Zab Judah went the distance against Edwin Vasquez (22-10, 8 KOs) on Friday night (Sept. 7, 2007). Judah was never close to stop Vasquez, who had entered the fight with a 3-5-2 record in his last ten. Scores were 97-93, 98-93, 100-90.
It is disappointing that he couldn't put this guy away, but to be fair he did almost stop him early in the fight, toward the end of one of the first rounds; and he didn't start really committing to a stoppage until the 8th.
I thought he looked pretty good in a bounce back fight. Why he didn't KO him is a combination of Zab trying to get rounds and Vazquez having a hell of a chin
it's aggravating when Zab doesn't pursue when he hurts his opponent. I didn't like his throat cutting gestures when he should have been punching.
His chin isn't that good. He has been ko'd 3 times in his career. freitas at lightweight and wilfredo negron and ricardo torres at 140. Yes, all good punchers, but lower weight classes. Zab had monstrous at 40, and very good power at 47. He should've been able to stop this guy. I think judah will become a gatekeeper for the top welters from now on.
This fight sucked. Judah seemed just interested in going rounds. Or at least thats what i hope he was doing because if he was going all out then he is finished. Judah did hit Vazquez with some good shots but some of those shots didn't hurt vazquez. However Judah rarely tried pushing the action. I must say it was disappointing.
It was a good fight, you can't stop everyone. Just because a guy has a bad record does'nt mean he is easily ko'ed. To think that some of you cats don't know boxing.
They dont know ****..that was a ok fight it was tense...judah was going for it early and the guy was game and did not take any chances to get caught with a knockout punch...he didnt attack judah and was very very smart not coming str8 in but he made judah be the aggressor when Judah wanted to be the counter puncher...the guy kept very good distance and he was doing vet moves...he didnt come to lay down...I hate clowns on here that dont know **** about an actual boxing match but look at names and wins and losses instead of actually looking at what the **** was going on in the fight...Zab was imitating Roy with his taunts as the guy was not giving him any openings..Another good thing...zab was actually a ****ing body puncher today...he actually tried to wear his guy down instead of looking for the one punch..the guy was tough..and fought scared hard to knockout a guy like that....
HOW the **** was that fight boring..Like 3 rounds that zab took off was boring..but the other guy was fighting back.and was game..nutpatsch to hell with these hating ass clowns..zab is never in a boring ****ing fight.
