Sounds like a bit of stinker all round. Two questions: was it a good fight to watch? Did Dirrell blatantly get robbed?

Cheers. I remember Jimmy Young ducking his head between the ropes on four occasions to avoid punches from a 'shot' Ali. His blatant shows of negatativity undoubtedly cost Jimmy the fight.

if want to watch men running i will pop to youtube and download clips of bolts recent races in a boxing ring i want to see fighters fight dirrells attempts at being a poor mans sugar ray leonard backfired and rightly so he is a mixture between a 200meter runner and a guest on strictly come dancing. froch didnt fight well and probably didnt deserve to win however at least he was there to fight and i feel the judges had enough of all dirrels antics and taught him a lesson by giving the fight to froch, still i think this will all be forgotten wen froch fights kessler and aa which will be old fashion tear ups

Froch was being a dirty **** in there and probably should have had a point deducted for rabbit punching. However, the decision was hardly a disgrace. It was a close fight IMO with Dirrell wining by 1 round. In the last 2 rounds Dirrell demonstrated that he's a good offensive fighter when he plants his feet. Dirrell hurt Carl more than Carl hurt him.

Dirrel didn't do enough to win the belt. You need to do more than run and clinch to beat a champion.

I don't get that argument at all. What does it matter whether hes a champion or not? He outscored him and won the fight.

Bunce was saying exactly the same last night. Take away for the titles though, boxer against boxer, Dirrell clearly won the fight. That's all that should matter.

He didn't outclass Froch from start to finish....he ran like a girl for the first 3 rounds. It was only in the 4th that he actually started to put it together, real elusive boxing.

I had it as a draw and wouldn't have argued with the decision going in either direction as it was difficult to score.......do you score for the guy who landed 5 jabs and ran for the duration of the round or for the guy who landed 1, missed 23 and chased him round the ring?

Just to add, I did feel a bit sorry for Dirrell as he was much better than his other fights suggested.

But it wasa split decision, itsnot as if he was handed an Ottke decision.

I watched again this morning and scored 115-112 for Dirrell. I didn't score live but my overall impression was that Dirrell won. Some of the rounds were close, particularly the 2nd, but there's no way Dirrell lost 7 rounds.
