https://www.*******.com/pacquiao-vs-thurman-compubox-punch-stats--141082 Thurman did land way more power punches than Pac and landed more over all. Pac landed more jabs because I will assume Thurman doesn't really try to land jabs. Base off punch stats Thurman should of won. But there is no way he was going to get the win unless he knocked out Pac. Boxing knows they can still make money off Pac. Especially if Mayweather came out of retirement to fight him again.
Those crying punch stats as an argument for Thurman winning (lol) how many rounds did Thurman outland Pac in? These things are scored round by round.
Agreed, it would be a nightmare, replay reviewing systems have ruined most sports. Have you seen how much of a nightmare VAR is in football / soccer?
No I haven’t really been watching much football lately since the last World Cup to be honest. Why? Do they review every foul or off side these days?
The bad scoring and robberies have arse all to do with not having video. its all $$$$. Its just as blatant at the Olympics broadcast to the world.
Video is two dimensional and from one angle at a time, whereas judges sit at three sides of the ring to get three angles and three dimensions. Two-dimensional images can be deceiving. And what would stop video replays being used to buy time for a hurt home fighter by delaying the start of the next round to look at something? Punch stats are put together by untrained staff (often juniors just pressing buttons) working for an unregulated and unaccountable company. They also ignore the other factors taken into account by scoring. It's not a great idea, if I'm being honest....
Pretty much, matches are started and stopped whenever there's a close call. Goals are scored, then the ref stops the play to review a video at mid-field 5 minutes later he makes a decision sometimes reversing a call made correctly on the pitch. Goalies who move 1 millimeter off their line on a penalty kick then make a save, results in a long review then the penalty kick is ordered to be re-taken. Every time a goal is scored no one can celebrate anymore for fear that it will get reversed due to the video seeing something. Every time there's a penalty given it gets reviewed for 5 minutes. Most matches end up with like 10 minutes of stoppage time after all the long reviews. Basically football has been destroyed by VAR, it takes all the emotion out of the game, and many times doesn't even get the call right.
Pac def stepped on his foot. But in the scheme of things it has little to do with anything. But I feel ya bra
