I wouldn't rule Rios out. Broner doesn't really use lateral movement and a jab; he's more of the "walk the other guy down, counter with hooks and straight right out of the shoulder roll/high guard" type. Also, a lot of Broner's success thus far has come from him fighting overmatched, smaller opponents. Rios is in all likelihood bigger and stronger than he is, and probably has the chin to totally disrespect his power as well. I think he could get the better of Broner in close quarters if he could take the fight there. I'll reserve judgment on this one until I see Broner in with DeMarco though. Broner still hasn't even fought at lightweight yet.
Toss up fight for me. Broner appears to have all the goods but he's still a bit unproven. Rios just knocked out a total badass in his first campaign at 140. Eating punches from Rios is not the same as taking punches from Escobedo. People underrate Rios' timing, which is dangerous for any speedy fighter. Great fight. But I think we're more likely to see Rios vs. Bradley which I don't mind. Rios vs Gesta will be nice as well.
rios has fought the better and more durable fighters then broner. with rios you cant out box him all night, at some point you got to stand and bang. i knew rios was a goon when he stopped Miguel Acosta. Acosta can box and then when he beat semi slick / semi boxer brawler anthony peterson. after that i knew good boxers will have problems with him, his pressure and power plus chin is to much. pacman would stop rios in 6 rd war, but broner style hmm. i think he would have outbox rios from the outside all night and **** the pocket unless it 2 shots and hes out or clinch. broner by ud but lets see how he does against demarco first he aint no slouch.
