thats because he has basically the same gameplan every fight... hes not going to change it now for hatton.
Exactly! These guys are grasping at straws. PBF is always prepared in shape and never takes any opponent lightly. PBF by wide UD or late round TKO.:deal
Same gameplan every night? How many PBF fights have you seen? PBF is a ring general and can fight in many different ways. PBF can beat Hatton in more ways. Hatton is the more one-dimensional fighter here not the other way around.
From what I have seen PBF along with Bernard Hopkins to a lesser extent has the best mental game today. I think PBF has clearly got under Hatton's skin and will continue to do so by calling him Fat with beer belly etc. That might be unkind of PBF but then Hatton out of ring habits give PBF the ammunition. I don't see PBF panicking because he has not in all the fights he has had and when necessary finds the right step to take. You can talk about all of PBF skills and attributes but something people forget other than his mental game is his excellent timing and understanding of another fighters rhythmn. Immediately he clocks Hatton's rhythmn I think this fight will be over from a competitive standpoint. Another issue in this match up is that Hatton has never fought anyone remotely like PBF whereas PBF has fought many people similarto Hatton in style and better fighters all round.
You might not like PBF as a person or his persona but he is admirable as a fighter not just in terms of skills but preparation and work ethic. You cannot fault his preparation which is not something that can always be said of Hatton. Mentally PBF will never accept that he is an underdog but will and does always prepare supremely, he would say as the best and as a champion. Before the ODLH fight his trainers refused to say PBF was in the best shape ever because he is always in the shape of his life come fight time and keeps himself in shape out of the ring. He is not the type that goes to training camp to get fit as he is already fit, he goes into camp to prepare to fight.
What utter bull****. When Ricky is in training he train sharder than anyone. Always makes weight, always comes in terrific shape. OK he balloons up in between fights but that is a different issue to once the preperation for a fight begins. Sometimes I think you guys don't have you're own opinions it is like you all simplify the common beliefs that are propogated in the media without questioning the facts: The typical ESB posters mind works thus: PBF is P4P no 1 (because everyone else says so) Hatton is Fat (because I saw a picture of him in between fights) Therefore PBF wins by brutal knockout (Because PBF is American)
You have no idea what you're talking about. No good fighter has the same gameplan for every fight. Please watch the Judah fight and the De La Hoya fight, and then tell me had the same gameplan for both fights.
castillo ndou bruseless sosa gatti hoya baldomir sharmba judah corley corrales are the ones ive seen off the top of my head... and yes, like i said, he has basically the same game plan and strategy every time, he basically fights two way, in close in the pocket using his shoulder roll, or potshotting using his legs and movement from the outside. the question WAS... do you think he will switch to southpaw stance to trouble hatton. my answer was no. if it aint broke, dont fix it, and i think mayweather doesnt think he NEEDS to change anything to beat hatton... hence... he wont be fighting southpaw. nobody is clutching at straws.
of course he didnt have the same game plan for hoya... nor baldomir. i said BASICALLY, he fights with the same style and gameplan. In most of his fights, hes fighting exactly the same way... your trying to tell me that outside of the baldomir and hoya fights, that the mayweather that showed up for ndou, sosa, gatti, bruseless, ect, ect all had differant looks? hes going to fight the way he always fights against hatton. Hes going to use the ring, box, tuck and use his shoulder roll when in close and off the ropes, ect, ect. i guess i should have said style... not gameplan.
Not quite correct. I've seen him come foward using the full guard, I've also seen him stand in front of guys and unleash quick combos while using his forearm to deflect returning blows. He's also switched to southpaw on occasion during his fights.
Exactly! He switched to southpaw a few times in the Corley fight and in others to. If PBF feels the need he will do it against hatton as well.
Hatton could give floyd as much trouble as burton did, they might not have the same styles, but they both are awkard as he** and they throw u off your gameplan and make u fight. Whoever get's tired or slow's down late in the fight will lose and i will be watching very close to see who break's down mentally and physically,i got my money on hatton, because i never seen floyd keep up a fast pace with a high punchrate, especially against a beast like hatton. The reason oscar won rounds is because he kept a higher workrate then floyd,i can imagine hatton throwing twice as many punches as oscar, but the difference is,hatton can do it all night long and i think floyd will realize that late in the fight.
I have a question for you, who won the Augustus fight?:yep Did you not see the Chavez, Castillo fights? PBF can handle pressure and doesn't get tired. If anyone gets tired it will be Hatton the way he was gassed at the end of the Collazo fight is an example of that, there he faced a slick boxer with good movement. PBF is similar but 10X better than Collazo. You keep talking about pressure this and pressure that. A fighter with only one gameplan like Hatton will not beat a boxer as well rounded as PBF period. You also fail to mention that Oscar is way bigger than PBF and he also has a jab two things that Oscar has that Hatton doesn't. Hatton is the one here that will face more problems. PBF has the clear advantages where they matter most Reach, speed, counter-punching, defense, footwork, ring genralship you name it. Like I said earlier Hatton supporters are grasping at straws here. Anyone that knows how to breakdown a fight sees PBF the winner.
