I guess being aggressive, controlling the fight etc etc mean nothing any more, it used to be that to beat the champ, you have to take his belts, now it's you have to run and pot shot or grab and hit on breaks wins the belts.

That's bull and you know it, Ward did do well from rounds 6-9 and i'd edge him 11, but that's it. He did nothing in 12, he did not much in 10, he was hurt in the first 5 rounds and in trouble, he was always on the back foot, his ''big shots'' had no effect, yes Kovs head snapped back a few times as fighters do, bt Kov answered it with his own.

Nothing in 12? So what did Kovalev do in rd 12? In the first 10 seconds he lands a clean left hook, at 2:30 in the rd he lands another left hook. Lands body shots at 2:05, nice short left hook at 1:23. Nice body shot at 1:05 from Ward. Kovalev lands a good body shot too but Ward clearly landed the better shots, before the bell Ward lands a very nice body shot.

 

You have way too much time on your hand to dissect a few clips of your fighter to justify a decision.
I don't have the time stamps to say when and where, I have what I saw, I did see Ward do ''some'' nice work, and then get completely bullied and backed up, and hurt again by Kov, he ate some jabs and bodywork of his own in that last round, so the 4 or 5 time stamps you are cheering for don't make up for him being backed up, hurt in the face hit in the kidney, busted in the solar plexus and eating jabs till the bell.

That ''shot'' before the bell also was blocked by the elbow, that's the problem people assume things land when they don't, and it isn't about what you land all the time either, it's how you control the fight, Ward was nullified throughout and hurt all the time, Kov was never hurt, he did take a couple of shots in 12 rounds of fighting where he was caught off balance or moving, but didn't hurt him at all. No matter how you slice this, even if you want to give him round 12, Ward was beaten and comfortably.

Nope, I had Ward winning 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 ,9, 11, 12, with 6 and 12 being close. I can see Kov taking 6 and 12, but also Ward taking 4, and 10.

I didnt study anything, I simply spent 3 minutes casually re-watching the rd while browsing the forum and pointed out some shots landed because you said Ward did NOTHING. I'm sure I missed plenty of shots that Ward landed. But sure make this about my "behavior" because you have no argument.
