Puts on a clinic against Michael medina (who's no soft opponent) needs a better inside game and to tighten up his defense a lil more but the kid is good 16-0-1 see a bright future if trained well and mentored well http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f7cPuRQzViU
He is better than both Charlo's right now. He is coming along very well for having 17 fights. I expect big things from him in the future. He has nice offensive skills. I like the way he varies up his attack, one shot at a time, combinations, he even varies the speed of his punches up. He also has good feet, and is on his way to being a really slick guy as well. He still gets hit a little at times, and he does need to work on that inside defense game a little, but he is the best up and coming guy that I have seen recently. He seems to have a decent chin, and tough body so far. Looking forward to his next fight.
he's trained by stephen "bread" edwards....a great boxing mind that writes articles for a site i can't mention on here. i hope julian makes it big and both these cats get recognition.
From the couple of fights Ive seen, he looks very impressive. Be interesting to see how hes brought along now, hes only a few fights from being a world title challenger. There seems to be a raft of American talent coming through between 135-154...but 154 particularly.
...is every young American with a bit of skill dubbed as "The future of boxing"? Th future of boxing revolves around the likes of Naoya Inoue, a true super talent in every respect.
The fact is though that people never really have and never really will care about fighters that small. Right or wrong, thats just the way it is.
It's true only division ppl really pay to see is lightweight on up with the exception of some stars in the lower weights then the casual boxing fan doesn't check for them
Whilst it's true it's fighters of THAT talent level that are the future. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying William's is useless or anything like that but it seems that every time an American shows some promise he's dubbed the future of the sport, just like Broner, Dawson, Berto and Alexander were. The future takes someone who doesn't just look special in the ring but is damn close to that once in a generation fighter, I don't see that as Williams.
