Well for damn sure he'd send Paul Williams to the morgue. From a sadistic point of a view... I like the idea of Jackson vs Cintron.
I don't think I properly worded that correctly to be honest as I have no doubts the majority of people on this forum know who Jackson is. What I meant was I was quite surprised at how he never seemed to achieve a truly great legacy bringing the insane power he had. Unfortunately Popkins I don't know too much about Bob Foster outside of KO Highlight videos on him on Youtube and his fight with Mike Quarry. I take it he is more than worth a watch?
no one as stiff and hittable as Pavlik is troubling Jackson Martinez would trouble Jackson in the early rounds but his sloppy upperbody movement would see him get destroyed Jackson staggered McCallum whose defesive ability is at least three times as good as anyone around these weights right now
If he fought at 154 today , all of the boxing commisions would insist on 16oz gloves, head gear , and if he fought in Germany his opponent would be allowed to take a bat into the ring. What he did to Norris ( who also would rule today) was just brutal, and Norris was a good mover , pretty good chin and could also hit.
Look up Foster's fight against Dick Tiger , was a punch (left hook , I think , dont quote me please). A lot of people have Foster as one of the great light heavies. His loss to Frazier up at heavy was too much though.
Theres nobody at 154-160 currently who's as elusive as Graham. Tall Paul goes NO MORE than 3 rounds with Jackson. Julian ending it sooner would be highly possible. Williams has THE worst defense ever on a world class fighter.
Williams would be the one fighter I would not put in with Julian Jackson at 154. I guess it would be fun to watch in a sadistic sort of way.
Foster was one of the greatest LHWs ever, but stuck in a pretty weak era. He'd be a handful for pretty much any LHW in history. Tall, quick hands, very good jab, sickening power in his left hook, his right hand wasn't bad either. In addition to the KOs of Quarry and Tiger, the Rondon one is worth watching too.
I'll make sure I somehow get my hands on some good footage of him sometime in the future. I have quite a lot of films I want to watch at the minute so I'll take a break from boxing and pick it back up at Foster when I'm ready to go back to Boxing.
You are ignoring that Jackson was KOed in EVERY single one of his loses. Someone around today would tap his Chin he wasn't unbeatable.
You would have to favour him to flatten anyone and everyone around the weight currently. Its fathomable that Martinez could beat him, wouldn't be putting much stock into it though. Graham was pretty damned good though, you would certainly favour him to beat anyone below SMW in the current crop of fighters, even though he didn't amass a whole lot in the way of token title achievements.
And then you woke up.....Norris 'es chin is pure GLASS. The end. Also, Jackson chin was far from great, he was relatively easy to hit, he ain't taking a full bore striaght right from a non Alkie Pavlik... GUARANTEED. Martinez would out box him, Cintron,Margarito or Williams he would stop for sure, IMO he is a underdog against Pavlik and last but not least Mayweather outboxes him handily, no question about that, he is way to predictable looking to load up.
In his prime he was only beaten by McClellen and McCallum , I suppose you havent heard of those men ????? pretty big punchers and are slightly better than Cintron, Margarito and Williams. Looking to load up ?? take a look at the fight against Graham when he lands with his back to the ropes and his weight on his heels, hardly loading up my friend.
