Did a quick search and was surprised never to have seen this thread. Simply put: does Julian Jackson belong in the hall of fame? 154 pound titlest 2 reigns as 160 pound titlest one of the best ever junior middleweights (top 4 all time at worst) holds knockout win over HOFer Terry Norris holds knockout loss to HOFer Mike McCallum 49 knockouts in 55 wins
it's weird, he's been eligible for about 7 years now but i've never really heard him come up in discussions donald curry is up this year (again apparently) but no jackson?
Borderline. Had a good career but not an exceptional one. No doubt someone will be on here saying if Barry McGuigan is in there then.......... Thats what usually happens when you create a should person X ben in the HOF.
This is about how I feel. Very good win over Norris, good wins over Graham, Tate and Baek, but a fairly empty resume after that. I wouldn't whine about it if he got in, but there are plenty who aren't in who were better.
He was never going to make it as a first bout HOF'r. But he might slip in there one day in the next couple of years.
this is where i am to. good but not great reign at 154, 2 short reigns at 160 and one HOFer on his resume. he should get in but it should take some time. that's fair. at the end of the end of the day the only reason he's even considered is his right hand (much like graziano!)
yes definetly. hardest puncher ever perhaps and beat quality opposition. way more deserving than several current members
