julian jackson vs jake lamotta....

Waits for everyone to say Lamotta eats 100s of Jacksons best power shots, walks him down and stops him late.

Julian can punch big time.. Jake, can take just about any punch Jake ko's jackson 9th round.

 

I recently did a thread asking who could take out the Bull... The consensus seemed to be, Nobody. Jackson was one name I brought up as a possibility. These hypo's are crazy of course, 'cause who the hell knows? But I guess I'm not convinced of it.

 

As much as I am fan of Jackson (and I am) I do believe that Lamotta would be a little bit too crafty for him. I see Lamotta at mid-range making Jackson a bit cautious about boring in, because Lamotta had just about the kinda' power that Jackson would have respect for. Wouldn't get blasted out early, but he'd have to think more.

I say Jackson DOES catch him early (3rd round?) and has Lamotta hurt, but his powers of resiliance are nigh on unrivalled at MW.

So, in response to PowerPuncher as well as the thread starter, I'm sorry to say but once Lamotta starts working his way in, muscling Jackson and hitting him all over, The Hawk is going to wilt.

Jake has a good chin, but not strong enough to handle Jackson's power.

The fight, in my scenario goes like this...the big punch from JJ would never land on Jake, who would then rev up his motor and overwhelm Jackson, taking out his dangerous opponent in the 5th or 6th round. Jake would be very motivated to ko Jackson..he would be too much of a threat to let him hang around.

 

Julian would never get a chance to take him out.

If Jake could beat SRR clean out the ring..he'd surely beat the **** outta' Jackson.

I'll say LaMotta by late TKO, if he survives. Julian had the punch to take out anybody if it landed flush/too many times.

 

Jake's got a great chin, I reckon he handles Jackson and KO's him late. Jackson's got that huge punch though, could Jake take it flush? I doubt it.

 

It would take more than a wild card to smash an ultra-durable like Jake LaMotta. It needs a focused offence, something of the like Bob Foster would bring.

Jackson would make it close because outside of his punch he was hardly inept; but LaMotta would storm him.

 

The question is can G-Man take a shot better then Lamotta?

Because he basically walked through what Jackson had to throw at him...Granted Julian was just about done and G-Man was a massive middle..But so was Lamotta, as he basically pushed himself hard to make it down from light heavy his whole career.

The more I watch of Lamotta the more I can see the argument that he was very underrated defensively..He was prepared to take a shot to land one of his but little deft moves on the inside often took a hell of a lot off what was coming his way.

Julian would start fast...and start putting an early beatdown on Jake but as the rounds wore on self doubt would start creeping into Julian's head as nothing he can do budges Jake.

Id put money on Jake winning this one 9 times out of 10...Sure Julian is always a punchers chance but in over 100 fights against the Robinsons, the Satterfields, was this ever a likely issue for Lamotta?

He wasnt just a chin..he was a quality fighter and one of the greats at 160.
