julian jackson vs jake lamotta....

Even LaMotta would be too cute to eat 100's of Jackson's rights.

If Jackson does land clean, providing LaMotta is not on an extra pay incentive [dive]; he gives that: Hello Mr Jackson, if that is the best you got, you are in trouble!!! Smirk.

:goodbingo, this is the way i see it. lamotta was a cutey at times who crouched and rolled his way into close range. just cause he HAD a great chin doesn't mean jackson would test it. jackson was one of, if not the hardest hitting middles of all time (and even better at lmw) but i don't see him landing sustained, precise punches over the course of a focused attack as would be necessary. he'd need to break that chin like waves against a rock and i don't think he had the movement, the patience or the accuracy to do so. lamotta didn't have the best defense so he gets stung early but by the 5th, he's digging into his bags of tricks to wear jackson down late.

 

lamotta takes this one. Julian punched harder that jake but was inferior in two departments; chin and stamina. Lamotta had an iron chin and generally seemed to get stronger as the fight went along. He also had deceptive boxing skills and was slicker defensively than most people realize.

Jackson would be most dangerous in the early rounds but would fail to knock jake out. Lamotta would get under many of jacksons shots and begin to wear him dowm with a body attack. This would gradually take the starch out of julian and get him out of there by the 12th.

it's an interesting fight to be sure and jackson ALWAYS had a punchers chance. ATG punch vs ATG chin? hells yeah. just this time the punch is all the other fighter really has on his side

 

Usually the immovable object gets past the unstoppable force, and this fight would be no different. Jake weathers the early onslaught by Jackson who would likely try his best to get Jake out of there early, but Jake will approach this fight much the same he did his bout vs Satterfield, by boxing early on and going to the body while playing it safe and letting the go for broke knockout artist use up most of his energy by the mid-rounds. Once that happens its only a matter of time until Jake stops a tired, weary and dispirited Jackson sometime between rounds 6-10 I reckon.

Julian in 3 or 4. Julian while not a fast fighter was miles ahead of Jake.

 

Jake already walked through and KO'd a bigger version of Jackson in Bob Satterfield.

LaMotta by late stoppage win.

I'm not one that subscribes to Jake as being this great middleweight force, as is often believed, subsequent to 1980. I make Jake the favorite to outlast Jackson given his resume and reputation as a gritty, almost superhuman middleweight, but I believe he would need to be careful - especially early.

It would be fun to see if the naturally smaller Jackson could floor La Motta.

 

lamotta was also under-rated as a boxer.
in his last fight with the great sugar ray,he out-jabbed robinson for a large part of the fight.a comfortable win for lamotta
