Did he hit harder than Satterfield?

He may have, hard to tell.

That's a fair example to bring up though, because Satterfield could really punch. Maybe this is less one sided than I thought.

Maybe look at the men Jackson actually put down for the ten count? I've posted them on this thread. TBH I would not be surprised if Jake stopped Julian late.
Jake was nowhere near the banger Jackson was, but he hit hard enough to ko Dauthille, only stopped 3 times in 62 fights,Walter Woods a decent LHV who was hard to stop ,and he managed to floor Robinson 3 times in their series.
Bangers like Marshall,Satterfield ,Murphy, and Basora couldn't dent Jake's chin.
On the other hand, Jackson's mandible was less than stellar.

Jake was tough as hell and Jackson was a great puncher. Jackson MIGHT get Jake out but not with one shot. I see Jake hanging in there and wearing away at Jackson and a late stoppage for LaMotta.

Pick any of his stoppages. Lamotta preyed on undersize men.

Lamotta had a truly atrocious KO rate so **** all chance of him stopping JJ.

Jackson would outbox him prohibitively over any distance. Far better skills, far better tools, and a good gas tank (see: Tate fight). He may or may not spark out Jake but he would definitely get his respect quickly and have him gunshy over the distance.

So Jackson is pretty much capable of doing something a prime Robinson needed six tries to do? Yeah.... right.

That's a good argument. My gut tells me Jackson but it's also true that JJ lost nearly all his fights by KO. I haven't watched enough LaMotta to really be able to debate this in depth.

I didn't pick him to stop Jake. But Julian certainly punched harder than Ray.

You picked Julian to "outbox him prohibitively". Even Sugar Ray Robinson couldn't do that to a prime LaMotta.

Yes, I did. And I think he would. I don't think Lamotta would be able to bully him or crowd him. He would be thinking twice all night after tasting Julian's power, a second too hesitant, a step too late. I don't think Robinson ever got that total respect against Jake.

No but he KO`d Norris who was an amazing fighter, it was the way he set that knock out up too, Noris at that stage of his career was extremely fast and tricky, brilliant scalp, vicious KO.

Jackson > Billy Fox so I figure he makes quick work of Jake.
