Who wins this scintillating slugfest between 2 power punchers? Both would be looking for the huge KO punch and not take a step back. The question is who would be the one to drop the first big bomb and stop the other?

Not sure who to pick. I might favor Jackson slightly.

Pavlik has Jackson hurt in the very first round. He pours it on to a Shaken JJ along the ropes. When the bell goes for the second round, it's Kelly, once again throwing everything at his man. But leaving himself open against this fella is dangerous! Jackson comes off the ropes and catches Pavlik so hard his gum shield goes flying!
Pavlik s head hits the ground hard and the ref doesn't even bother to count.
    Jackson ko 2.

Pavlik would beat him and stop him in about 7-9

Pavlic was pretty repetitive. I think at some point he gets walked onto a counter he can't handle.

    Jackson KO4

Pavlik won't have the size, speed, and ferocity that McClellan had over Julian Jackson so this will certainly be a much closer bout.
I actually think Pavlik would be able to avoid getting stopped by Jackson. The guy had a really good chin and heart.

just curious what do you mean by Pavlik won’t have the size over Jackson in contrast to McClellan? Kelly was 2 inches taller than G but did have 2 inches less of reach...he still would hold 3 inches in height and 2 inches of reach, as opposed to 1/2 inch of height and 4 inches of reach that mcClellan had.

Edit: I certainly agree with speed and ferocity.

I'd favour Pavlik, his size would be a factor, he might get dropped early but go on to win a close UD/ split decision.

I think it has more to do with the fact that McClellan just looked much bigger than Jackson when they fought and his reach does make it appear so, plus I also forgot that Kelly was 2 inches taller (it's been awhile since I've seen Pavlik fight and his thin frame makes me forget that he was a big MW) so that was mistake on my part haha.

no big deal bro, I was not criticizing just curious, I do think the extra 2 inches of reach is a factor...I just think Kelly had a good enough jab that he is going to score and punish behind that and the reach he had. Thanks for the feedback either way

Of course! To be fair this is a 50/50 fight the more I think about it now.
A fight between Pavlik and Trinidad would also be a barnburner as well.

Kelly was too hittable. I look at the Miranda fight, and even though he steamrolled Miranda, he walked through a lot of firepower to do so. It's a different story attempting to walk through Jackson's power.

Pavlik absorbs much the better if the 2. Especially at middle. This isn't Cardamone he is in the ring with, and Jackson's ability to take punches long term is good for 5 or 6 rounds. Then, he goes.

    This.

It'd be a firefight for as long as it lasted. No way it see's the halfway interval!
