Jackson was a better two fisted puncher than Hearns, but other than that Tommy was better than Julian in every way possible.
JJ was great but Hagler is legendary. Very exciting fight it would be but I think JJ ends up getting the beating of his life
Hagler was bigger, more skilled, and took shots better than Jackson. He'd outbox Jackson, while taking the shots that Jackson does land, and stop Jackson in the mid rounds.
Hagler-Jackson would be similar to that of Hagler-Heanrs. Julian is in a catch-22 situation: He cannot outbox Hagler on the inside or outside so he has to go for broke & fight fire with fire. However, as already said, Hagler durability is great, so I cannot Jackson, despite hitting very hard, even scoring a knock-down. Jackson may well indeed land some heavy artillery in the first round, but Hagler would get through & give just as good as he gets. Jackson would not be able to stand the pressure much more after the third, so Hagler by TKO4!
Jackson would have his little moments maybe make things exciting and hurts him briefly but thats about it for him I think overall its easy for Hagler and he stops Jackson in 6
hagler would KO jackson in the 6th after a brutal slugfest, thing is, haglers durability would also be his achilles heel. he may have been tough, and could take a punch from anybody, but you cant take so many shots from a murderous puncher like jackson and NOT have some long term damage afterwards. so hagler would win, but at a price. it would probably cost him his career.
I could see Hagler stunned and/or staggered in this fight but he had a hell of a chin. Hearns stunned him but couldn't put him down and Hearns packed lots of power even coming up from 147 and 154. All of Jackson's defeats came by stoppage so his chin was unreliable. He had the kind of crazy power that would make it a dream to watch while it lasted. Hagler wins by mid round stoppage in a war that sees both men visibly stunned or hurt. Hagler would finish Jackson once he hurts him.:bbb
