Pure puncher vs pure boxer. Would Jackson find a way to land that big bomb on Kalambay to put his lights out or would Kalambay outbox Jackson to a convincing decision win?

Surprised that this fight wasn't made, especially after Jackson KO'd Graham for the MW title. I would have loved to have seen this match up, would have been a highly entertaining clash of styles.

I love The Hawk. But 7/10 times he likely gets outboxed by Kalambay.

Why in God's name would Jackson have gone to Italy to face a mover for no money, who had already been wiped out, sorry you've baffled me.

Kalambay at his best should win on points. Jackson was very sharp though, very good jab and very good body shots but didn't like it when Graham or McClellan moved.

    Kalambay easy UD.

Jackson would be swinging for the fences all night but striking out as Kalambay would use subtle foot movement to keep him off balance.

Yes, he caught Graham, but Graham was standing right in front of him and dropped his hands.

I think Kalambay would stick to the game plan and not get careless.

And, yes, Nunn caught Kalambay cold, but that was kind of an aberration.

Kalambay would beat him 8 times out of 10 as would've Graham but he got one of those nights where it went wrong and it could easily happen here as well.

I doubt Jackson was making all that much more fighting guys like Ismael Negron and Ron Collins on the undercard of Chavez fights.

    Kalambay outboxes him.

Has Kalambay ever been considered for the HOF? Seems odd that some of his contemporaries have but he's been left out, e.g. Jackson.

I like Kalambay to win a decision. Sure Julian might have knocked out anybody. But I Kalambay was only stopped once in some 70 fights and I think that was an anomaly

Much more than he would in Italy against a FAR better boxer in Kalambay, who wasn't even selling tickets in Italy and who fought on ****ing Eurosport, and who probably wasn't in the WBC top ten at this point.

Jackson was a good counter puncher and threw tight shots. All his knockouts were perfectly timed and executed. Swing for the fences?
