I know, I know, you probably think I'm an idiot for suggesting this, but hear me out.

Yes, Jackson had scary punching power, but after watching his knockouts on Youtube, I noticed that most of his KOs were against bums. His knockout of Terry Norris, while brutal, isn't that impressive when you consider that Norris had a notoriously weak chin. The 2 best fighters he faced in McClellan and McCallum knocked him out.

    Is Jackson's power overrated?

    No.
He was past it against McClellen and was the smaller man.
McCallum was just better. You can't stop everyone.

LOL, I am with you there red cobra! Jackson's power was phenomenal, a once in a generation thing.

As a at best; a one eyed fighter, he managed to steamroll the likes of Norris, Graham and Drayton.

He was on borrowed time and McClellan eventually got to him, arguably three years (The BBB of C refused him a licence in 1990) after he should have lost his licence.

If you think about it, one-punch KO's are relatively rare. They happen, certainly, but they are the exception. With Jackson, you fully expected his fights to end that way. It's not that he beat "bums" (I hate that term), it was the way he beat them. He could have been fully expected to beat all the Ismael Negrons and Dennis Miltons of the world via stoppage, that's fine. But to take them out routinely (as well as bigger standouts like Drayton and Norris) with one punch speaks far more to what he was bringing to the table than the quality of opposition.

No, he's not overrated as a puncher. He could thump with the best of all time.

He was one of the hardest punching fighters between 147 to 160 pounds there has ever been without a doubt. Just a brutal one punch ko artist.

There's power hitters, and then there's guys who land a punch and then step back and point at the spot on the floor where their opponent is in the process of unconsciously toppling backward onto.

Norris, Drayton and Graham were far from bums

    Negative points in his career:
    - Weak chin
    - the two titles he won were vacant
    - only 4 good victories( chul baek, drayton, norris and graham)
