Looking at his resume on boxrec it don't look that impressive to me. He won his 3 world titles when they were vacant (not saying they werent world quality operators but its always better to beat a bona fida champ whos had a few defences and proved himself). I must admit i dont know much about the 80s light middle era and 90's middle era, but was there anyone better he could have fought or did he take on all challengers?

He's got some decentish names like Thomas Tate, Buster Drayton, In-Chul Baek, Dennis Milton and Agostino Cardamone to go with some good wins over Herol Graham and Terry Norris. But really his resume isn't great as you say.

He took against a couple of very good fighters who he came up short against, or great fighters if you will, in Mike McCallum & Gerald McClellan. He didn't fight them all either, he probably could of fought Don Curry, John Mugabi and John David Jackson at 154, Jackson again at 160, guys like Benn and Eubank aswell, perhaps Reggie Johnson, maybe even Sumbu Makalambay sometime at the end if Sumbu's career. I don't know why he didn't fight any of those but I don't think he ducked anyone certainly.

Very good fighter, but his iffy chin and eye troubles prevented him from being a true great IMO.

Sparked out Graham with a single devestating punch when fighters who people argue to be ATG's like Kalamby and McCallum could only manage disputed decisions at the most.

Again, destroyed Norris like no one else ever has and yet you're sitting here trying to discredit his resume?

Guy was 49-1 at one time and considered one of the P4P better fighters in the sport.

Jules Jackson also fought on too many King undercards......... Not enough wins over elite fighters......... A good bomber with a shady defense and chin......... He'll be lucky to make the IBHOF up in New York based on his resume........ KO losses to "McCallum & McClellan" really damper his chances there in New York......

    Jackson's chin was fine.

His defence wasn't fantastic, and he fought plenty of heavy handed bangers.

The flash KO of Graham is unforgettable, though equally unforgettable is the fact that he being absolutely slaughtered to that point!

I had it 30-25 to Graham..... but none of that matters I guess.
