John Jackson, one of the twin sons of Julian Jackson, qualifed for the Olympic's today by beating Pedro Lima, of Brazil, who was considered one of the favorites in that weight class.

John is only 19 and is fighting for the Virgin Islands. His twin brother Julius was elimated in the first round.

Another note, Julian Jackson is the Virgin Island National Coach

Very interesting. If he fights anything like his father, he will have a style that is more suited to the pros as well. So this amatuer success is certainly a very good sign.

When has a son ever lived up to his fathers reputation?

I can only think of Floyd Mayweather...most of them just cash in on their name.

No he hasn't. He has to qualify in Guatemala at the second Americas qualifier, with Shawn Estrada and Chris Downs.

Hunter has just improved a ton. Not really experienced, but good footwork and speed and with the sparring and training up at the OTC he's improving a lot.

Floyd is a good call, but not the only one. Ray Mancini and Anthony Mundine are others.
