the kid is just now starting to get a taste of top 5 world competition, which is remarkable given his age and the fact that he had only fought once outside of mexico before exploding on ali. i dont think he will ever be the best boxer in a division, but he dont need to be in order to rule it. hes just now learning what its like at top of his division, but hes 21 and does possess some world class gifts, unless hes a dumbass, which i know for a fact hes not, hes gonna get much better real quick. i think he will take a loss or 2 before hitting his prime, i just dont think j rock will have enough to do it.

You're quite right, but I wonder if J rock is going to run into something big and some point and get stopped.

Yeah the chin he showed against Charlo doesn’t inspire me with confidence but at the same time, Charlo imo is faster, hits harder and is sharper than Munguia and J rock was doing well. If he can make it to points with out being dropped to many times then he should win on points.

i can see J-Rock doing well early, taking the majority of rounds, with Munguia sinking those body shots in early befor Munguia breaks him down and stops him. i think his chin will let him down

Munigua wants nothing to do with jrok at this point in his career.
Better fight a Kirkland or Vanes Martisrosyan next.

munigua no jab, wild, off balance, and green. Needs a couple more soft touches before jrok

Exactly how i see the fight

    Jrock outboxes him early

But Mungia keeps pressure & it pays off

I know Jrock has skills, but Jesus christ some of you are acting like he is a Prime Bhop lol

Who has he ever really beat? Best W is Ishe Smith

Mungia Ws over Liam Smith & Ali are better then anything Jrock has done

    Its a good fight

Williams ran into a few big, flush shots, against Gallimore, and had no issue.

Munguia's a nice kid, has potential and is fun to watch but his defence has more holes in it than a colander full of Swiss cheese and he's in danger of getting sparked out by anyone who can crack a bit and exploit his nonexistent defence until works on correcting that weakness in his game in the gym.

    *Switches to Andre Ward mode*

I have no idea who J Rock is.. Oh wait.. is he the guy who fought one of the Charlo twins? Yeah I've seen one round of him in action.

I feel like we keep seeing this same scenario playing out at 154 over the last 3-4 years. Charlos x2, Hurd, Munguia - basically the big, strong, young guys at 154 - fight a cagier, more experienced opponent (Trout, Williams, Vanes etc), everyone says they are going to get out boxed, but eventually the younger, bigger, harder hitting guy comes out on top. Can't remember the last time the smaller, lighter hitting, more experienced old pro won one of these.
