Julie Lederman's 119-109 Card - Was it Fair, Crazy, Corrupt?

I watched the fight with a crew of younger guys who had investment on both sides to whom they wanted to win. I don't care about either guy now and didn't then. We all scored the fight 7-5 for Lopez.

Either she was pilled up or drunk or on some delusion causing payola.

 

Crazy! I said in the rbr thread here when it was announced.

 

shes just incompetent. how many people do you know, or have worked with someone who just sucks at their job but are there for other reasons besides performance? ****, half of you here are that person.

 

How the **** are you justifying giving Loma just 1 round?

A dodge score yes, but in a subjective sport I don't know why so many people are surprised when someone else sees something different to them.

The idea of rife corruption is something I don't really buy into. If there was any substantial proof of the judge being bribed, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be a judge any more.

Draw in my opinion is in the realms of possibility. Unlikely, but possible.
119-109 for Lopez isnt, not even Ray Charles wouldn't score that fight 119-109.

Nah that doesn't happen. Baaaxing is one of the cleanest sports around.
In what other sport can you choose your opponent?
Ring size, gloves and pick your judges?
In what other sport can you roid, get caught and return to ring after 6months, and blame the beef.

Well first off I'm on about boxing. No idea what baaaxing is or why anyone would spell boxing that way.

Secondly none of that response relates to what is said. If there was substantial proof that a judge was bribed to deliver a pre determined score, they wouldn't be a judge any more.

 

It's in the realm of possibilities of a bad score. Rounds 8-11 were Loma's for me. That's 4. Being generous you can give him round 2. Then you'd just have to incorrectly give him another round, which can happen.

It's not as crazy as 119-109 though.

 

It’s incompetence. There is no justification on rnds 8,9,10,11 on how those went to Lopez. 8 rnds to 4 you can make an arguemnt for but 11-1? If she isn’t incompetent then it’s corruption. There is no other choice.

I don’t want to believe she’s corrupt as she comes from a family that heavily invested their lives in the sport. That being said 119-109 is ludicrous. Call it whatever... biased, wrong, crazy... maybe she was ill. Fighters even champions have off nights. Maybe she had a bad night.

Let’s see her next card before we start throwing insults like C.J. Ross around guys.....

Look again - my interpretation matches your own. Note the deliberate language used. A draw is nearly as dumb, I said ..while having it for Loma is as dumb.

As in, a draw is wrong but without crossing the border into ridiculous. 119-109 for TL, or any score with VL winning, are ridiculous.
