Julio César Chávez Carrasco is a 6'1 28 year old Super Middleweight with a 48-2-1 32 KO's I KO lossrecord. Born and raised and fighting out of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Bashing Julio Jr. seems to be quite popular at the moment, and after all its not like he makes it easy to root for him, he's an unmotivated, lazy, pothead, spoiled, fat, self righteous, rich kid who's had every thing given to him on a silver platter, he doesn't seem to take the sport of boxing seriously, and sometimes I even wonder if he cares at all. But even with all of the bad qualities that can be held against him it doesn't change a simple fact, the kid has a ton of natural talent which shines through only when he's incredibly motivated. His chin that he's inherited from his iconic father has already become the stuff of legend, he's strong as an ox and hits like a mule, he's an amazing body puncher, a decent combo puncher and happens to be one of the most exciting to watch boxers currently fighting. But his lack of confidence and motivation has been his undoing on several occasions and if he could only choose to dedicate himself to the sport 100% he still has a chance at the young age of 28 to be a force. And officially he only has one loss to Martinez which is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of since Martinez was P4P top 4 when they fought, and it was expected and even then Julio managed to almost steal victory from the jaws of certain defeat in one of the best last rounds anyone has ever seen, but thankfully Maravilla survived.

Much has been made of his several close matches that are seen as robberies by many, well none of them are robberies they were all close fights Vanda, Molina, Zbik, Rubio, Vera all close but none of them did enough to win either, a few of them should have been draws but an outright robbery is a bit much. Back to his chin, think... how many boxers in the sport besides maybe Carl Froch can take the punishment Julio can, he and Rubio a KO artist went to war and slugged it out for 12 rounds, Julio never was even wobbled, Julio walked headlong into tons of Andy Lee's best punches many of them flush, no effect whatsoever, he was punched in the head countless times by Maravilla so many that Freddie wanted to stop the fight, Julio didn't seem fazed by them at all. Granted a lot of that stems from him being a Cruiserweight the night of the fight, which is another reason to be annoyed by him. Regardless Chavez I believe still can be a force to be reckoned with and hopefully he can get his head in order within the next year and finally give us some of the big fights he's been teasing us with. Who of you wouldn't salivate at the thought of Froch-Chavez, Golovkin-Chavez even Ward-Chavez may prove to be entertaining, and maybe eventually the War of the Iron Chinned Mexicans JCCJr Vs. Zurdo Ramirez, nice right? So give this flawed pain in the ass another chance he may eventually live up to his billing of The Legend Continues....Check Out Senor Steel Chin in Action.:toney:toney:toney:toney

He is a Mexican't punching bag who is going to get absolutely poleaxed by Froch. One of the worst Mexican so-called "great" fighters there has ever been.

Froch will shut him out 12-0 most likely but Froch is a P4P future Hall of Famer, Chavez could be a great second tier fighter if he really tried.

I literally think he is one of the worst Mexican boxers I have ever seen. When you're getting pummeled by Brian Vera, you have problems.

He's a glorified ESPN fighter, and a feather fisted figther to boot. His punches aren't heavy enough to keep a world class fighter like Froch from pummeling him.

I've had enough of him coming on t.v. spouting how next time he'll take training seriously blah blah blah...

Hopefully he'll get knocked out and he can go back to working five days a week, like the rest of us.

Will be exciting to see how Chavez reacts when he tastes Froch's power. If Hearn is smart, they will make a maximum weight limit on fight night
