    he wont defect, he is either got a phd or studying for one and is very loyal to the cuban team. he has been team captain for about 6 years now, they only let the most loyal have that position too

    also if he turned pro no one would want to watch him leg it around the ring all night, there would be cheers of bring back lara, after the fans had to watch one of de la cruzs displays

    He wont turn pro but tbh you could see him beating everyone, it would be the most boring boxing the world has ever seen but he would probably beat everyone
