I can't believe with all the footage around, there are still people, namely *******s who think Chavez was there to be hit..

Chavez had AMAZING defensinve phonebooth skills...The way he could move an inch one way and immediately an inch another direction to avoid a flurry of punches was masterful!

 

its more than *******s, many people that have a personal reason to discredit him like to say his defence sucked. a decade of taking on the best the world could dig up to beat him and how many pictures of a beat up chavez have you seen? as you stated, there is a ton of footage of chavez trading with the best in the world at the time and as there are so many of you fans who seem to take the time to look at a fight in slow motion to get at the truth, then take the time to educate yourself.

Hold on tho, which version are we putting Chavez in there with... the `green Pac that only had a left hand`... the `improved Pac that developed a right hand`... or the `super improved complete` Pac that is up there with Muhammad Ali & co ?

Chavez had an excellent defence but Against great fighters it was good not great, how does Chavez KO pac so easily on most people's eyes when a 165lb Margarito who landed over 200 punches on Pacquiao, People keep mentioning chavez's pressure breaks pac - that is a very vague answer. This is a very competetive fight either way, anyone who disagree's don't know **** about boxing, Pacquiao has excellent footwork against a guy coming foward but this seems to be ignored by people measuring his footwork against a backpeddling Marquez.

-Endurance
-Timing

How would JCC own Pac you ask? Timing/Defense/Stamina/Pressure/Skill/Ring Generaship

What is Pac going to do when JCC is smothering Pac's punches, while JCC is working Pac while standing an inch away? Back Peddal??! Pac can't even do the effectively, and JCC is a master at cutting of the ring.

What does Pac bring to the table? Supposed blazing speed? It isn't something JCC hasn't seen. Surely, if JCC could make Whitaker, Camacho and Taylor MISS entire combinations, then he would have wild ass Pacquiao swing at air. Please watch JCC fight, and focus on his bobbing and weaving, on his bending style AND ability dodge and counter a combination with his own while standing inches infront of you.

Will Pac land on JCC? Sure...But JCC has P4P one of the best chins EVER...Think about that.

It is safe to say that one single punch from JCC is more damaging that a punch from Pacquaio. It is also safe to say that JCC has the ability to endure more than Pacquiao...FFS I've seen Pacquiao wobbled by Jorge ****ing Solis, by Barrera, was in fetal position for 3 days from Margarito too...Was wobbled by Marquez and hurt bad to the body by Marquez too...JCC is one of the GREATEST body punchers EVER...

What does Pac bring to the table again? Speed, combinations? Combinations proven to be ineffective by moving to your left...Combinations that couldn't beat a past prime 38 year old lightweight?

Watch more JCC fights and come back with a real rebuttal.

Btw, JCC is a much better fighter than JMM.

 

Chin: I've seen Pac wobbled by Jorge Solis, Juan Manuel Marquez, Barrera, and in the past by Nedal Hussein, and Torrecampo.

Stamina: He may have good stamina, but JCC has superior Stamina...Pac is always breathing extremely heavily towards the end of his fights, he doesn't have Mayweather, JCC, Marquez type Stamina.

Endurance: I've seen Pacquiao fold by body shots, you can clearly see it in the Pac-JMM II fight...and one of JCC's signature punch was the liver shot.

Timing: Looks fabulous against Margarito and stationary targets..Against movers, or fighters with good defense, not so much.

Accuracy: Refer to his last two fights.

 

Larios rocked him pretty good also.

 

Some of this analysis of Chavez just being some punching bag is mind blowing.

You're bias against Paquiao is too overwhelming, Divac. I have plenty of posts in this thread that show me highlighting the numerous disadvantages Pacquiao would have against Chavez, if you want to look at those instead of randomly targeting my brief expression that it could be a close fight. Of course nobody's ever done that to Chavez, because it's something fixed into Pacquiao's style that few implement in a similar way. I'm not saying Pacquiao would win, but surely if he had to try, he'd do so trying to turn Chavez and stay away from his right hand, trying to land what he could before circling out and avoiding inside exchanges.
