At 130, Money had a good punch.

Juuko was just a name of a fighter everyone fought. He was not a great fighter. Not even very good. I'm just saying that Floyd fought whomever he could at the lower weights. Corrales was feared when PBF fought him. JC Castillo was considered the best LW out there at the time. Genaro Hernandez was the best JLW. There are definately quality fighters on his resume. Not near the level of quality as Chavez, but very good.

I am saying that Chavez, while a great fighter, was not as good as Whittaker. PZBF was as good, if not better than Whittaker in my eyes.
Johnston was done by the time PBF was ready to take over at LW. Castillo had already beaten him. There was no reason to fight him.

Prime Mosely didn't want to fight him when he had the chance.

Floyd could have fought Tszyu, but I don't know how much interest each fighter had in fighting each other. Tszyu was the champion, so I don't know who did the ducking.

At WW, Floyd has been frustrating, and I'm truly disappointed that he hasn't fought the top guys. Yes, he has picked who he wanted to fight, and this is the same **** that turned me against RJJ. I hate cherrypickers.

I truly believe that Floyd's ring intelligence and versatility would have won him the day in a fight with Chavez. He just would not have let Chavez get into any offensive rythm. He always comes into a fight prepared and knows what to do. I think at 130, he had the strength to keep Julio off him and get his respect.

You sound confused, read my post that you highlighted.... I says that it is crazy to suggest Hatton is anywhere near Chavez, I think you read it wrong.

    Hmm.

Tough match, because Chavez was probably a better technician than people give him credit for being, while Mayweather had an underrated offense at 130lbs.

You kind of got a feel for how Floyd would react to pressure during his title defense with another pressure fighter named Chavez...Jesus Chavez, that is. Not that Jesus was even close to JC Superstar in terms of abilty, but employed a pretty sound game plan and threw a lot of punches. Took a couple of rounds, too, which indicates that Chavez would be able have his moments in this fight. Still, Floyd countered well off the ropes, ripped nice uppercuts and shots to the body and ground his rival down in the later rounds to force a stoppage.

So...I think he might be able to hang on if he's able to grab an early lead. Since Chavez did tend to start a bit slowly, I think that's kind of likely....And though I do see JC coming on later in the fight, I think Floyd might just be able to nick a close, controversial decision that would produce threads just as long as this one. :D

Its not out the question educated pressure was used by Jose Luis Castillo and he made the first fight with Mayweather close.

But I do think that Mayweather especially at 130 would be able to neutrazlize Chavez and win a close but clear decision.

Both fights with Castillo were close imo, albeit the 2nd clearer than the first for Floyd.the 2nd was a Corro performance.I actually prefer the spirit he showed in fighting back with an injured hand in the first.

Such a shame that he doesn't put himself on the line. He has the capacity to, as the first Castillo fight showed.

No, no I understood where you were coming from. I just didn't make it clear I was agreeing with your opinion of the original poster's view on Hatton.

    My mistake:oops::good

A young PBF vs a best ever Chavez at 130?

    Chavez beats Floyd up.

It would be a fascinating fight, as would Floyd-Whitaker & Chavez-Whitaker at 135 lbs.... all close fights, no domination in either fight IMO.
I wouldnt put it past Chavez to outwork both if your talking the Chavez of the Rosario fight.

Not as clearcut as the UD Pea should've got, but clear decision nonetheless. Mayweather stylistically holds the aces here.
