Just saw the poll. This fight's a toss up at 145, but i'll go with the more proven fighter at this weight, and that's Cotto.

Chavez is a legend but Cotto has more tools.

At 140, Chavez stops Cotto in about 8-9 rounds in an exciting fight. At 147, Cotto takes a UD.

Cotto is the bigger fighter, and better at 147. Chavez still had the better chin, but at 147 this should be Cotto's fight. At 140 it's a TKO for Chavez.

This is a great match up SMOOCHP. I see Cotto coming in with some nice boxing skills in the early rounds, but Chavez will start cutting of the ring and start smothering Cotto like he did Rosario. Chavez was a true master at working the body and delivering great uppers. Chavez will force Cotto to fight Mano a Mano finishing the weaker chinned Cotto.

Edwin Rosario is listed as one of the TOP TEN HEAVIEAST PUNCHERS in history and he never hurt Chavez with the shots he landed.

140: Chavez TKO 7 (Cotto couldn't handle the relentless pressure of Chavez at this weight. Having stamina problems, being weight drained, and having a shaky chin are not attributes you want when facing Chavez. He'd wear Cotto down on the inside and after a knockdown or two, the referee would put a halt to the contest)

145-147: Cotto UD (Stronger, better jab, more suited to welterweight. He'd take a clear decision in my opinion, showing his versatility and boxing skills in the process)

Thanks my man these are the things I think about when garbege fights come one like the one tonight. But I just really like Cotto now, and I think Chavez had problems with people who can box a lil bit. But I feel exactly what you are saying

This fight just came to mind: Chavez vs Margarito at 147

Chavez - the more complete of the two by quite a distance, greater versatility, better infighter, equally solid chin and Margarito - big welterweight, high punch output, great mental fortitude.

The size difference would just be too much for Chavez to overcome, IMO.
