damn theres another benny, anyway i agree with mostly everyone in here 140 would be chavez 147 would be miguel
The thread should have confirmed the weight class. You have Chavez now compared to Margarito. Chavez could not hang at 147. Now Cotto was champion at 140 and I thought he was just okay. I thought Zab would have beaten him at that weight. Cotto is so much better at 147. If you throw Cotto from his 140 championship years against Chavez at 140 back in the day. Cotto would get stopped within eight rounds. I heard or read something also about Rosario being one of the hardest punchers also.
Have you seen these two fight? In my opinion this would not go the distance. But I would agree with you on who wins at which weight. 147 - Cotto KO 7/8 140 - Chavez KO 6 through to 10
Hopefully at 147 Cotto would win a decision, but I really don't know. I'm a huge Cotto fan and would he rooting for him all the way.
THE Fight isnt even close, u think cotto who won a close decision against an aged mosely could take out a prime chavez at 147
Chavez Power Stamina Skills (infighting) Defense Exprience (total fights and Quality opponents) Chin endurance That leaves Cotto with size? Maybe a bit faster. okay.
Lovemore N'dou had Cotto running the last 2-3 rounds of their fight. Feather fisted Corley had Cotto chicken dancing. B- level Torres had Cotto praying to the virgin for salvation. Old man Mosley hurt Cotto to the body and had him in a turtle shell in the last couple rounds. Cotto is fun to watch, but he is no Chavez. Chavez was complete. He was tested against the best. He proved more than Cotto has ever proved against quality competition Cotto has never and will probably never face.
When I look at how Cotto boxes, Chavez always has a punchers chance. But a weight drained Cotto he would beat. That super Cotto fighting at welterweight I dont think he could touch. You can tell by watching Cotto in the ring that he feels better and stronger and is having fun in the ring at 147. The way he treated Gomez like sparring partner to not totally destroy him was priceless.
