I was talking about the rematch when DLH was 26 -- and that's why I said close to prime. :bbb

Whitaker's reflexes just leave a bad taste in my mouth regarding his record.

seems to me he did both, he fought a LOT of bums but also a lot of HOFers and ATGs.

He's one of the most underrated today. Completely disproportionate to the Godlike status he enjoyed during his prime which is arguably more telling than a fighter gaining appreciation through the passage of time after he's gone.

He was 25-0 in title fights heading into the fight with Pea. :deal

He was fighting bums as well as Top contenders, fighting about an average of 5 times a year, when our current p4p king only fights at a ridiculously pathetic 1 time a year.

He fought the best 130/135/140 had to offer, and it was quality (Taylor, Rosario, Ramirez, Lockridge, Mayweather, Camacho, Castillo, LaPorte). If I'm not mistaken, Lockridge, Rosario and Taylor were all the top man in each respectively (aside from himself) and he made the fight with #2 P4P Whitaker, had the gumption to fight a young lion like De La Hoya past his best.

Unbeatable in his prime. True greats like Whitaker and Taylor weren't able to crack the code.
