De La Hoya -J.C. Chavez Jr. in May or September 2009.

Then Chavez Sr. can hate DLH even more.

C'mon D.....This is nothing new in boxing. Ruiz faught Jones someone far smaller....Bhop faught DLH who is far smaller. Maxim Faught Ray Robinson who was smaller.....People just don't like DLH b/c he's just some Squeaky clean and Policically correct to the point some don't buy in to it. DLH is a great fighter...and a terrific business man. Of course it looks to be a mismatch....So did all the other fights that I mentioned before....but no one was hating on all the other fighters. You are right...people either love the guy or hate him.....More hard core fans seem to hate him than casual fans...but Boxing fanatics are a bit overboard sometimes.

I agree....people should just enjoy the fight...or decide not to buy it at all. I'm interested in the fight so I'm going to shell out the dough, even though it's mad crazy to buy a $65 fight....I love boxing. I'm sure DLH will KO pac, but I'm hoping to see something really special from PAC...somthing that will etch PAC's name in the history books of boxing. Or a great KO over the smaller man won't be all that bad either.:bbb

To call DLH a coward doesn't speak to well considering DLH has faught the Very best of the divisions he's won titles in. FLoyd, Shane, Hop, Whitaker, Quartey, Vargas, ect. ect. ect....Yes he's taken some easy named fights here and there....So have everyone else. This fight is basically about dough...plain and simple. DLH is trying to make history in terms of revenue generated by one fighter...he's made the history he wanted to inside the ring...now this is the business side/Boxing side since he's half way in and half way out of the sport. But yea.....I really wanted DLH to fight Marg.

Aside from that statment...most fans (not Mexican fans) are just bashing DLH just to Bash him. They bring up the Big man vs Small man BS when Boxing is all about that. It's part of what makes this sport interesting...eveyone loves to see an underdog emerge from defeat to get the hard faught victory over the bigger man.....but it's not that way for DLH...at least for a lot of hard core boxing fans.

Oscar is overrated. He has no balls, for backing down from Margarito.

Just like Chavez when he ran from a Randall rubber match for 10 years. Chavez was a punk when it came to giving deserving rematches. He didn't give them (or gave them too late).

DLH is similar when it comes to rematches.

Julio Cesar Chavez 65-0 vs Ramon Aramburu 0-0.

    :deal

On top of having plenty of material to rag on JCC about Oscar will always have the mental advantage of knowing he EASILY raped JCC twice.

of course it was easy, ****en oscar was young and prime....chavez was out of it...

you bringing that **** up just said a lot about you man...how can you even compare....oscar will never be what chavez was, never !!
that's what ****en eats oscar inside day in and day out.....

plus, in that 2nd fight between them...not sure if you watched it or not, but that's clear proof that a prime chavez would've mopped the floor with oscar......

I don't think it's proof. Oscar's game-plan wasn't the best, but he gave Chavez more opportunties to score, with the hope that he could stop Chavez. Oscar knew he was too big (and young) for Chavez, who was never a welterweight anyway.

Not saying Oscar would beat a prime Chavez, but I assume he'd fight a prime Chavez more like he did in 1996 at 140 (with more respect) than he did in 1998 at 147.

Julio's absolutely right - Marquez won that fight, and this De La Hoya-Pacquiao fight is a joke.

    It says nothing about me.

Oscar fights both bigger and smaller fighters.JCC at times fought non fighters so who is he to rag on someone's opposition.

it's clear as day that boxrec doesn't have up all of those fighters records.....most of them guys have a bunch of fights that go under the radar, but even then, chavez used them as tune-ups...remember (you probably dont) he would fight a lot of times a year.....not like oscar's 1 time a year fighting ass.....forbes and pacman
