I don't have a problem with Chavez taking "stay-busy" fights between his title matches.

I actually liked it when fighters like Chavez and Toney had all those non-title bouts between their title bouts. Old-school style of fighting all the time.

You're overrating Chavez. It's okay, we all do it with our fav fighters. Oscar was a better boxer than Chavez in every way and beats him every time.

Oscar is smart, he doesnt want to get his ass whipped into retirement like Chavez.

I dont really like de la hoya. He's fake, and he sounds like 13 year old girl when he talks. But anyone calling him a coward is just being silly. He fought everyone.

I seldom call people names, but anyone who blatantly gives out false facts is an idiot......

DLH was never a 130 pounder, he severely dehydrated himself so for a fight or two so that he could win a bogus paper title at 130 lbs.
.....never did he even intend to fight the best at 130 lbs.
This is clear, and is a fact.

DLH was a legit lightweight, thats where he started and where he belonged when he turned pro.......

.....and get the facts straight on Hopkins. Hopkins was a career middleweight. He has the career record for middleweight defenses for crying out loud.
In fact, Hopkins weighed 156 or 157, below the middleweight limit when he fought DLH......it was in the contract for them to fight below the middleweight limit. Hopkins made the weight comfortably.

Yes, Hopkins is naturally bigger....but his fight with DLH was not like DLH's upcoming fight with Pacquiao.

With Hopkins-DLH, it was a case of a junior middleweight fighting a middleweight.
.....in the case of Pac-DLH, its a case of a junior lightweight fighting a juniormiddleweight!
Its just the way it is, and those are facts PP!!!!:deal

Just because im not around to respond within 20 seconds doesnt mean you won ANYTHING....

I think Oscar doesnt really give a **** what a "real" Mexican cares about anymore.Again the last guy to question him went overboard with his Mexicanism(grew up with plenty of Vargas')and got the **** beat out of him.Yeah Oscar never has and never will act or behave like your typical SoCal Mex/American which is a retarted notion in the first place. He didnt wear his Nike Cortez and Ben Davis' gear and go out and get "respect" the way a "real" Mexican does.

Bottom line is JCC is a bitter old man who seems to forget that he feasted on nobodies for a good chunk of his career and his son is currently doing the same against much smaller fighters.

Freddy you can question his Mexicanism(we both no what your idea of a "true" Mexican is)and how he will never be what JCC is/was but on the other hand no Mexican let alone Mex/American will ever take his place.Oscar is his own man who never played into YOUR preconcieved notion of how he should behave to earn your respect.

    HOF and beyond.....:deal :thumbsup :smooch

Hopkins was a HUGE MW who cut weight to make it where he was.He could have made the move to LHW years earlier but stuck around just long enough to feast on a few small guys to put him at STAR status.

Of course this is a bit of a circus match up as we all know but it's not the first time it has happened. The only difference here is that it's Oscar who's involved and as we all know everything is twice as worse and overblown when Oscar is involved.

It's because of the big size difference.

There wasn't much complaining when DLH fought the smaller Mayweather, or if Cotto had moved up and fought DLH. If Cotto had beat Tony and fought DLH, most people would love the matchup. But the weight difference here for DLH-Pacquiao is a lot larger than those, and then it was Hopkins-DLH.

Hopkins may have been a big MW, but he made the weight comfortably and even fought at a catchweight of 158. He even made 156!!

Dont hate the playa hate the game!!!!!

Oscar is just playing the game like everyone else.

Good reason for same day weigh in's.

Margo and Williams wouldnt be able to feast on smaller guys.

But hey it's twice as worse when Oscar is involved.
