i'm not trying to win anything man    this is the internet for ****s sake....and honestly, i find it funny that you can even compare the two....but we all have our opinions and i just feel your way off with how high you have oscar and how low you have chavez...

i dont really give a **** about oscar, i've said it before and i'll say it again...i keep bringing up the mexican thing cause HE'S THE ONE THAT DONT SHUT UP ABOUT IT....

"i wanna be loved like chavez"
"my dream is to fight at the azteka stadium in mexico"

    etc
    etc

that's all that ever comes out the mans mouth....oscar himself has said that chavez made las vegas what it is..so he paved the way for fighters like oscar to make a killing in the sport...chavez broke through when it was almost damn near impossible to be a mexican, and under 200lb's and he didnt do it with good looks either, he did it with his fists.....he never ducked anybody, fought all the greats of his time and aside from 1 really controversial draw, the man basically took on the world by himself......

so stop trying to throw your racial slurs at me with all the ben davis and cortez talk....i aint blind, i see what your trying to do...never have i said how i truly feel about him and the mexican thing, cause again...i dont give a ****...it's him who brings it all on himself......

No, people are really bashing DLH more because Pacquiao just fought his first fight at 135 and is jumping two weight classes in addition to that jump. The size difference is a lot.

There was very little whining when DLH fought the smaller PBF, because the size difference there was smaller than this one. Again, would people have whined if DLH fought Cotto at 150 or 154? Not many.

And it doesn't help that DLH just publically said he wouldn't fight Hatton because the junior welterweight Hatton is too small, then is fighting a guy who just left junior lightweight.

I never rated JCC one way or the other....i just simply pointed out that both he and his son have BS fights on there resume's as well.

Call it racial Freddy(like this doesnt happen to every white guy on ESB)but we both know what Vargas was talking about.I grew with about 200 Aztek Warriors who's idead of what it is to be Mexican was just like Vargas'.

do you even know why vargas would call him that....

it wasn't cause of how he dressed (typical thinking from someone who thinks they know california).....
they had some personal issues from way back, something that happened while training...i'm sure from there his hate grew more and more for him...i mean, it's not easy to love the guy, so in a way i understand vargas, but again, i never gave a **** about oscar anyways......

Vargas said he looked up to De La Hoya at first. Then one day he was doing his roadwork and fell down, and instead of helping Vargas up, Oscar laughed at him.

Vargas said he hated DLH after that.

    2 words Freddy FALSE BRAVADO.

Something Vargas put on and something Oscar has NEVER put on.Your average Mex/Amer lives by this.

Im very aware of what Vargas was bitter about that whole falling in a ditch thing during training camp.

Oscar called Vargas out on what his idea was to be a real Mexican.

    FALSE BRAVADO homie.

Apparently one time Vargas and his crew egged this parade that was thrown for DLH.

Vargas was a celebrity stalker, who got beat up by the celeb he was stalking.

Regardless of if you think DLH "beat up" on smaller champions at 130 or not, the fact still remains he faught at that weight class took away a belt. He did what was within the rules of the governing bodies and won, thus winning a title. If he "severly" dehydrated himself then I guess that would even things up since he was the bigger man. I've been dehydrated myself before and I can tell you that I'm in no mood to go 10 or 12 rounds feeling just dehydrated, let along "Severly dehydrated".

And DLH is a natrual Welter weight. Jr MW or super WW were not his ideal weight classes. People are making this out to be more than what it is just b/c its the "poster boy" for boxing. People hate whoever is on top...whether its PAC, DLH or Mayweather they all get their fair share of outlandish ciriticism.

Lets get one thing clear. DLH is a bonafide juniormiddleweight, he's been fighting in that weight class for nearly a decade.

Manny Pacquiao has had 1, count them, 1 fight as a lightweight, and against a paperchampion that most felt got beat by a shot Erik Morales.

My point being is that Pac is'nt even an established lightweight....now he's moving up to fight an established juniormiddleweight.

We basically have an established 130 pounder fighting and established 154 pounder, a difference of 24 pounds, count them, 24 pounds!

The Pope John Paul Chavez II has spoken, his words are golden to his followers.

I'm not sure DLH has publicly stated that. I know that more Mexicans than not, like and root for DLH.
Where DLH has a problem is with the hardcore Mexican boxing fan that is knowleadgeable on the sport.

I remember something vividly that I saw in Deportes Telemundo with very respected senior journalist Roberto Longo and Jesse Losada.
This happened during the time that DLH was making a stink about having an investigation about his decision loss in the Mosely rematch.

.....both Roberto Longo and Jesse Losada who have always been kind to DLH, finally busted and came out publicly in their program critiqueing DLH for his rants.......
.....they stated, "obviously DLH is in utter frustration that he's never reached the approval and the status from the people that JC Chavez recieved. Chavez was genuine with the people and he proved his greatness in the ring. DLH for as hard as he tries will never come across as genuine, and his rants for an investigation of the decision in his loss with Mosely, is utter ridiculous."

I think its obvious to those that have followed DLH, that he's never had that legit win vs a worthy comtemporary. Chavez had Rosario and Taylor, but DLH has always come up short in the big one.
I think its the reason why DLH is still fighting today. Obviously he's not doing it for the money, but for the recognition.
He thinks the boxing fan is neive enough to give him the recognition for beating Pacquiao, a P4P'er.
He thinks matchups are about popularity and that we are stupid.......

DLH is sinking, and does'nt realize it.
You will see more people after he destroys Pacquiao criticizing him for taking on the much smaller fighter.

What DLH does'nt realize is that he could face a fighter his size like Margarito, and if he should lose, the people are compassionate enough to know that he took on a real task and congratulate him for the courage to do so.

DLH comes out smelling like roses if he even give a good account of himself against Margarito......but he picks on a midget who he's likely to steamroll, and you just wait how nasty this forum gets in the aftermath of his destruction of Pacquiao.

Just a bad legacy move for DLH.
Its not like he needs the money. He's going to get ridiculed win, lose or draw.
Imo he's going to regret ever having signed to fight Manny Pacquiao.
