Julio Cesar Chavez is probably the best fighter who knew how to cut off the ring...

I think Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. was unbeatable at 135 lbs in his prime and era.

He also had one of the best chins in boxing history!! I never saw him get stunned in any fight in his career. He did get knocked down but the first came until he was 34 or so after 89 wars.

people think margo is scary. julio faced much more fearsome punchers and he rarely even blinked when hit. can you imagine how that made those ko artists feel?

I agree, Roger Mayweather was one of them. So was Edwin "El Chapo" Rosario.

I agree, but he had definitely passed some of that wisdom down to Margarito, Margo cut off the ring superbly against Cotto.

he did cut off the ring, he used his jab and kept cornering cotto by cutting him off.

Exactly. The guy only thinks differently because as Cotto tired, he wasn't moving properly and made it easy for Margo. And no-one was suggesting that Margo was cutting off the ring as good as Chavez could, obviously that's not the case, Chavez was peerless in that fighting style.

ramirez-whitaker is an example of one fighter following another fighter around. margarito was trapping cotto on the ropes and cutting him off when he moved laterally.

No he didn't. Margo followed Cotto around. Once Cotto tired himself out, Margo then started to what you can "cut" the ring off. But he never tried until it took little effort to do so.

watch the fight again fool, from the 2nd round margo started using his jab and cutting off the ring, but then again no one cares about your opinion when it comes to either cotto or margo, your a floyd fan not a boxing fan.

 You're right. Although it wasen't his jab, it was his face that he used to cut off the ring. You know, being hit over and over. Then letting Cotto tire himself out.

Agree I dont think anyone can argue with you on this one, I think almost all mexican fighters share a common style to resemble Chavez's style. Hes the definition of a mexican fighter.
