Julio Cesar Chavez is probably the best fighter who knew how to cut off the ring...

LOL,Cotto never "tired himself out". thats a poor choice of words.Cotto lost his stamina due to constant body punches and by swallowing blood as he tried tried to breath.Get it str8

Cotto did tire himself out. Im not saying it was only Cotto who did it. But Cotto fought the wrong fight which ultimately let himself tire himself out, which lead to more body shots.

Jeff Fenech at his peak was another who excelled in cutting off the ring.

God your hate is so rife that you don't even know cutting off the ring when you see it.

    Ditto.

Lies. Margo did not cut off the ring until Cotto was tired. Which was Cotto tiring himself out, which lead to Margo landing body shots and slowing Cotto down even further. Which lead to Cotto not being able to move as much and thus, Margo was able to finally cut off the ring from Cotto.

Ok....from what I saw on more than one occasion, Margarito was trying to cut off the ring but he was doing it in a mildly effective way. Cotto was helping him out often because Cotto eventually needs to plant his feet for a while in order to get his shots off..That's when Margarito was able to get to him...It was Cotto whom had to stop at some point that truly helped Margarito..On numerous occasions, Margarito let Cotto slip away because he was either not throwing enough when he had him cornered or giving Cotto a clear path to move out... That's exactly why his cornerman said in many early rounds to throw more punches when he's got Cotto in front of him !!

He did a decent job of cutting off the ring but for the most part he was simply following Cotto around. It wasn't text book like JCC or a prime JLC for example.:deal Not to mention Cotto getting tired had more to do with it than anything.

Yeah I watched the fight. I saw Cotto giving him a boxing lesson until about the 6th round when he got tired up until then it was mostly Margo following Cotto around getting beat to the punch and countered. When Cotto slowed Margo became more effective at cutting off the ring.

Eze, Margarito was landing hard body shots and right hands in the second round. Cotto's nose was broken in the second and his body was checked too.

He couldn't have done that if he wasn't getting Cotto on the ropes, which he did. Watch the fight.

Margo WAS cutting the ring off, it's just that Cotto was fighting his way out of trouble- in a way Chavez wouldn't have allowed. Then as Cotto got slowed by punches, he couldn't fight his way out of trouble as effectively anymore. Margo's tactics or style didn't change the whole night. You see? Admitting what Margarito did do in the fight doesn't mean you love Floyd any less mate.
