Is Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on target to take center stage in boxing? He's got the pedigree, but is it his fate to follow in his father's footsteps? He's promoted under Top Rank, so you know his career will be engineered perfectly toward an illustrious career in the same way that Cotto's was engineered. But is JCC Jr. the real deal? There's only so much a manager, trainer, and promoter can do to help someone. In the end, it has to be up to JCC Jr. and his talent to do the fighting and the training. In the years to come we'll find out.

    I'm assuming you mean JULIO.

    I'm not assuming you're inbred.

Chavez Jr. is HYPE.. Bob Arum is putting him on PPV just to make some money off of his name before he steps up the competition and gets KOed.

I dont know i think if he fights at 154 then he might get a hold of a title.
That division is kinda weak right now but is he gonna be as much as his father?? NO his father was a great man and i dont see Jr. becoming as much. However i do see him beeing a champion at 154.

i'm a bit curious about jcc jrs. future. i hope at least he can grab a belt 1 or 2 years from now so at least he could get credibility on behalf of his dad

at 154 there is a big chance he'll get a title. Lets not criticize Jr. yet, if he's following his fathers footsteps remember that Sr. was 43-0 before getting his 1st world title. Plus he didn't have any amateur background.

I don't see Chavez Jr going far, even if they give him plenty of fights to develop. I really haven't seen much improvement. He looks like a one-handed fighter who relys on the left hook. And he's shown plent of defensive flaws against C and D level competition.
