Vanes is the better fighter. More explosive and more skilled. Chavez is good though!

Oh boy! Its best to keep them away from Sergio Martinez. No wonder Arum won't want to face JR. with Martinez if he were to beat Zbik. He would much rather cash out on Cotto/JR. than to get JR exposed. Either way Cotto will beat JR. but I think Cotto is not the same anymore so a fight between them will still be kind of "competitive".

:good this is great. Jr shows he lacks the speed and defense, but getting beat by vanes ahould make Jr a better fighter. I like how he uses pressure, but imagine if Jr had vanes's speed. Hed be much, much better. Canelo vs Vanes now thats a fight I'd love to see.

If Chavez Jr. wins the belt he should fight Pirog to unify. Then maybe Martinez.

    Vanes went BEAST on Jnr.

    He's also smaller.

****....I like what I see from both. I think JCC still needs more work but Vanes looks sharp. BOTH gave and received in that one but they look very solid. Use of a wide array of punches, good head and upper body movement and decent Defense.

Am I missing something here? Sure vanes looked faster but IMO Chavez was blocking most of his shots whereas Chavez was not so flashy but whenever he threw punches they were clearly more effective and harder. Those body shots by JR were great and I like his defense.

I think if they ever fought it would be quite competitive for the first 6-7 rounds but then slowly but surely Chavez would break him down and TKO him by the 10 or 11.
