Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Spars Vanes Martirosyan

Julio not doing so well against 3-4 punch combinations, and he stays eating that uppercut...some one needs to tell this guys to move their heads wtf!

 

Nice profile pic Anthony . Yeah they aren't exactly holding back are they. I like Martirosyan some good wins on his resume. I would like to see him face a in shape Daniel Santos or someone of that ilk- I think throwing him in against the Alvarez's of the world is a tad early although he can bang harder than Rhodes could I suppose.

Not sure about that... there were several moments in there where I think Vanes would have been on his back without the headgear.

I'm becoming more impressed with JC Jr. over time... he'll never be what his father was, but who is? His combos are becoming fluid, he's very relaxed in there and you know he's working hard at Wild Card. If they could just add some elusiveness to his game he could fight anyone. JC Superstar seemed to have a built in radar for incoming shots that Jr. doesn't have. Where JC would slip, deflect or ride out punches Jr. just eats them.

 

Agreed, if he faced him in a pro fight I'd think Jr would fall like Prince Charles Williams against James Toney (well with a lot less technique behind the punches)

 

I don't understand the hate for JC Jr. There's nothing in this clip that justifies this statement, at all. I could pick out half a dozen spots where JC landed three or four hard shots in a row, especially with that left hook-overhand right combo when Vanes was on the ropes, which was where he was most of the time, taking shots from JC. Why do you hate a kid who was born rich and could be sipping Pina Coladas on a Mexican beach with supermodels, but who chooses to be in a gym instead trying to live up to his father's name?

Chavez came to the ring at 180 pounds his last fight. I wonder how much he outweighs Vanes in the spar?

 

Jr. needs a good trainer, Ronnie Shields would be perfect for him.
