Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Bryan Vera RBR

It isn't so much that Chavez Jr won, it's the cards. 96-94 for Chavez Jr is an ok scorecard, the fight was close. But given the nature of the fight, if Jr won it, he won it by that margin at best and most of the time you'd expect a split decision. Instead he gets two more cards in his favor with scorecards of 97-93 and 98-92, which are atrocious cards. It also doesn't help matters that he complained incessantly during the fight about Vera going to his body and had all the weight issues beforehand stacking the deck in his favor. Personally I had it 95-94 for Vera, giving one round even, five for Vera, and four for Chavez Jr.

 

As I said, agreed re: this fight, but previously he was actually turning up the day before the fight 160lbs or less.

Not sure about the diuretics thing although I would think that would just ruin you physically anyway wouldn't it? I mean, however he was doing it he was making 160. It can't have been good for him to make 160 24 hours before the fight if he was really as heavy as people claim.

Chavez Jr. won that fight at the very least 1 point.. Judges scorecards were very off, but expected that they would favor Jr.. Still he looked like a bum tonight.

Vera had the work rate, but his punches never threatened.

Chavez landed the quality shots. Vera was rocked several times. 96 -94 was fair. The other score cards are unusual to say the least.

I had it 98-93 Vera, and that's only because I felt my scorecard was too lopsided so I chaged round 5 from 10-9 Vera too 10-10. Single biggest reason why boxing is falling out of such favor in the U.S., it will never be taken seriously again until they do something about blatant robberies like this.

 

This fight was as fake as the moon landing. The only way Vera could of won was via KO.
