So what is the general consesus around ESB about JCC jr? I've seen about 7 of his fights, and I've been pretty impressed. His record is inflated and he hasn't been fighting the toughest competition, but he didn't have an amatuer record, either, so he is still learning. Anyway, that being said - he looks very sharp and skilled to me. I think in the next couple years or so we are gonna be seeing more of him and I believe is destined to be a very strong contender. Who knows how much upside he has, but I think he has tons of talent and looks great - regardless of the level of his competition. I'm looking forward to him stepping up to tougher fighters, but I think they are doing well in preparing him and getting him his needed experience in the ring.
This guy is slow and very easy to hit. The day he steps up to world level is the day he will loose. Paul Williams would destroy this bum
Agreed. He needs work on defense, but his improvement in the last year and a half has been remarkable. Better than Hearns, Paez, and McGirt.
I like watching the kid fight, he puts on a show. Gets the Ko most of the time, and who doesnt like ko's.
For a guy who doesn't have any ammateur background, he is doing good. Nobody should antagonized his record as being padded or inflated . . . because this is where he is gaining his experience. He is very promising but rightnow he is not ready to fight the title holders.
This is exactly what I was going to say. I think he will be future top 10. You can see his progress going up from fight to fight and lately he is having VERY noticeable improvements. Basically he is turning into a man :yep
I think he has good power, and great punching ability. He can throw all the punches in the book - jabs, hooks, uppercuts, straights, crosses - and he throws accurate, smart combinations. He has a great offensive game and keeps getting better. I don't think his defense is all THAT bad. He does take too many shots, though, but he's getting better every fight. He's taken shots and comes right back. I guess it's too early to be completely sold on him, but for some reason I really feel that he is someday going to be right up there with the Margaritos and Cintrons of the world, and has a chance to go higher. I think most people are underrating him - and maybe I'm overrating him, too - but I think many people are going to be losing money when they bet against him in some future "big" fight.
was hard to choose cause he could probably beat a couple of ABC top10s right now, but he doesn't look awesome imo.
His chin is what will bring him down. Just watch until he faces a live puncher cuz he's a knockout waiting to happen.
that could be true, but you could still be good boxer and world champion without even being half his father was
