was just scouting over boxrec........as you do.......... my ignorance but i havent heard much about JC jr at middleweight. KO percentage is impressive and is unbeaten. Can anyone info me on him, will he be a real contender at middle?? Can he challenge Pavlik??
No. His fight with Vanda was very controversial and he owes him a rematch. He doesn't have the workrate or heart of his ATG dad. If he joins up with Javier Capetillo I think he could do well.
He eats more punches than i've had hot dinners. He's yet to fight anyone of any real note and he's already struggled several times. He has power though, i'll give him that. Not even top #10 material though.
no i'm legit, obviously his pops an ATG but he hasnt had much exposure fight wise over here. I mean i probably have seen **** on him but just havent remembered him i guesse.
To put it bluntly. He's got power, a bit of speed, a good chin and a good offensive arsenal. However, he needs to improve his defence and step up his work-rate. Joining with Javier Capetillo would vastly improve his stamina and drive.
It's true he's got absolutely no exposure over here. I'll maintain if he continues the way he is he won't make it, he might pick up a belt but that's it. If he joins Team Capetillo he could do pretty well.
That's the This content is protected reason why Chavez Jr. is considering retirement. Think about your answer.... How many fighter's will/Have ever had the career that Chavez Sr. had? The kid got started off on the wrong foot, The people wanted Chavez Sr. II. But the fact of the matter is, there will never be another Julio Cesar Chavez. I agree W/TommyVercettiX, Jr. defo has those ability's and need's a better coach & conditioning to compete with the next level of fighter. (Javier Capetillo would be the perfect choice, + great experience) He is no Chavez Sr. If he should come back and fight, I say the people back off and let him be his own, tho in a million years that will never happen.
He's not that bad. Considering he's only 22y.o. with no amateur background, he's performed well. Vanda was physically bigger than Jr. and was one of the first guys to stand up to his punches. Chavez was dominating the first half of the fight and totally gased out, he showed heart by hanging in there at a time when he could barely hold up his hands. I heard he had trouble before the fight making weight, and may have had to weigh in twice, but afterwards they claimed he went into the fight sick. Rematch should show whether that has any merit. I predict he'll be a MW title holder in 5 years. If Duddy ever wins a JMW title, I'll expect Arum to jump at that oppurtunity for a big fight.
Jr. is still young and learning. If he works hard he'll be a contender, maybe a beltholder. Of course he's not his father. Chavez Sr. was one in a million.
He has awesome one punch power, a jaw from hell, height, reach, and a great knowledge of offensive basics, and lots of heart and balls. He needs more coaching on defensive skills and a conditioning coach.
as of right now he's the biggest joke in boxing and about his ko rating his been fighting only but cab drivers like his father did for the first 65 fights
