    Red is just a baffoon who refuses to give certain fighters credit. Its really that simple.

    There is'nt one iota or shred of anything to indicate Chavez used loaded gloves, yet he comes in here and starts a thread without a mole of anything to back him up.

    1+1 must =5 just because Red said so! :nut

    Very possible and I always believed that could be the case in that fight. Expect a lot of raging cabbies to take out the frustration of their worthless and pointless existence on you.

    Chavez gave this man a worse beating than Margarito gave Cotto and I thought Cotto took a bad beating.

    I'd say the punishment this man took is on par or even equal than the one Jess Willard got from Dempsey.

    Just look at this description:

    "It is popularly believed that Meldrick Taylor was never the same physically or psychologically after the Chavez bout. Famed sportswriter William Nack said he had never seen a boxer give so much as Taylor did in the fight. Nack claimed that Taylor's "prime" was literally beaten out of him and was thus gone forever. Dr. Flip Homansky, who examined Taylor following the fight and immediately sent him to the hospital, summarized his injuries by saying "Meldrick suffered a facial fracture, he was urinating pure blood, his face was grotesquely swollen... this was a kid who was truly beaten up to the face, the body, and the brain". Taylor also showed signs of disorientation and short-term memory loss common to head injuries and concussions. This was perhaps most notably shown in the post fight interview with boxing commentator Larry Merchant, where Taylor insisted that Steele had ended the bout without giving him a count or asking if he was ok until he was shown a replay of events."

    You know, ever since the Margo thing, I had that in the back of my head. Don't want to believe it about Chavez, but it wouldn't be the most shocking thing I have ever heard. Used to really destroy guys faces, not just Taylor

    I think this type of speculation is reckless without ANY shred of proof. A guys face gets busted up in a boxing match. Wow. Who knew? :patsch

    It's not just his face, its the aftermath. This guy sustained serious damage both physically and psychologically. Read the quote I posted.

    You are.

    It's not uncommon for fighters to urinate blood, or fracture orbital bones, or break jaws, or break ribs, or suffer separated solar plexuses, or sometimes get knocked out and never wake up. Getting beat up from a power puncher like Taylor did was a sight to behold but nothing unseen time and time again in the sport.

    The fact that you stated " if I ever box" tells me your young and don't know ****, another big neon sign of ignorance is you watching legendary nights and running with the several minutes of info you JUST learned, it had been discused here before and called a myth that Chavez ended Taylor, it was the start of his down fall, as someone noted his defense wasn't the best and was a philly fighter, and went hard on sparring and took lots of punishment till the end of his career. Maybe Norris had loaded gloves too eh??? Learn some more before you stay a permanent DUMB **** son.

    cmon man even the most hardcore of chavez fans can see taylor was destroyed by the fight. just look at him pre chavez and post chavez. stop being so biased.

    If you cant even explain what a philly fighter is then dont use the term. if your basing all boxers from philly from taylor then thats BS.

    Chavez was a veteran of over 100 fights it's disgusting that with all these suspicions of illegal padding nobody ever bothered to check his gloves.:fire
