I have a conversation with my friend about who is the greater fighter. I can't decide so I let the forum member assist. It's not about h2h but historically who is ranked higher in the p4p sense.
Tough call.. I'd have to do a thorough breakdown on both careers before I can give you a solid answer.
JCC was a great fighter but Floyd edges it. One thing you could say about Chavez is that he was more willing to take fights against guys who stood a decent chance of beating him.
I've got both guys in my top 10 of the best I've ever seen (& probably higher if I really thought about it). Once you're at that level, I don't like comparisons.
Chavez fought everyone and destroyed them, iron jaw, iron will. Floyd was amazingly gifted boxer who consistently avoided the toughest threats.
I first thought Floyd on points, pretty standard. Then I thought who gave Floyd problems throughout his career style wise, and it gets harder to gauge. It's a points win for one of them, and I lean slightly towards Chavez. Castillo, maidana pressured Floyd with great results, now Chavez is a level above those 2. The argument can be said about Chavez struggling with defensive fighters like Whittaker too, but he could be better than Floyd against a Chavez also..So all in all, a very hard fight to predict
Chavez without a doubt. He went over 80 fights without a loss. I don’t know WTF Floyd or his fan boys think his 50 is a record of any kind.
