yEAH jcc Is a better all around fighter than Cotto is at this point but they are very ,very similar in styles and like someone said earlier @ 140lbs i would pick JCC but oddly enough at 147lbs i would have to go with Cotto in a slugfest.

BTW G-damn your ava of JCC throwing that left hook is VERY reminisent of Cotto's~

Chavez hands down. The man was a much more accurate puncher who didn't waste punches. HIs straight right was much more effective than Cottos right. if anything Cottos left hook to the head is better than jc hook to the head. Chavez was busier yet not as vulnerable as other fighters would be if they were to be as busy as Chavez. Chavez Conditioning was also way better than cotto's . Chavez could box but chose not to. Even Emanuel Stewart said Chavez had great boxing skill but he just never chose to box as much as american boxing fans would have liked.

I don't know but with each man at their best at 140, I strongly believe Chavez would win by KO. Simply too tough.:smoke :smoke

Chavez, with over 100 fights, was well past it as a welter.

I've saw a fight of Chavez vs Ruben Castillo( who is the 80's version of oba CArr is the sense that they would have won titles if it werent for ATG of their era.) During that fight Chavez was already being considered an ATG fighter, and this is at 130!!

Dude, you just can't be serious? How in god's name is Cotto more complete? The only two things Cotto has on Chavez is maybe one punch power and hand speed, and he was the naturally bigger guy. Other than that, Chavez has better footwork, better combinations, better punch resistance, better stamina, and was better defensively when he utilized head movement as evidence by my signature.

Chavez was more complete, Chavez was better...it's not even remotely close.
