    By solely using my "Memory"...
Roberto Duran has fought the Truly Elite-Level Competition...But at a weight that was not beneficial for Duran...(Leonard, Hearns, Hagler and Wilfred Benitez..Along with Pipino Cuevas and even Iran "The Blade" Barkley.

Hector Camacho doesn't get the respect he deserves sometimes...However I think his Bravado (A Latino version of Floyd Mayweather) may have something to do with the "Lack of Respect" he gets. But early in his career...he fought and beat some VERY GOOD FIGHTERS..(Rafeal Limon, Jose Luis Ramirez, Freddie Roach, Howard Davis Jr., Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, Vinny Pazienza, Greg Haugen...and the only fight that made CRY...BEATING UP SUGAR RAY LEONARD).
Along with Losses vs. Julio Cesar Chavez, Trinidad and De La Hoya. Hell, in May, he beat Luis Ramon Campas....Yes...He's still Fighting.

    Julio Cesar Chavez
Probably gets the MOST RESPECT of the 3 fighters. But the biggest criticism Chavez get (especially from me) is the INFLATED record early in his career. The first Legit fighter that I remember him fighting was Rafeal Limon...And Chavez was 59-0 (I think). So who in the hell were the first 58 opponents??? But anyway...After that he fought some SOLID fighters...Jose Luis Ramirez, Roger Mayweather, Terrence Ali, Meldrick Taylor, Greg Haugen, Pernell Whitaker, De La Hoya, Frankie Randall..etc.

But there are 3 fighters not on Chavez's resume that IMO...these fights should have been made. Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, Livingstone Bramble and James "Buddy" McGirt. I remember on ABC Wild World of Sports in '89...Bramble had just beaten Harold Brazier...And after the Fight he said "I WANT TO FIGHT JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ". And to this day...it still bothers me, THAT FIGHT NEVER HAPPENED. And also...in the Mid-Late 80's Buddy McGirt was a 140lbs pound fighter...Would have love t have seen
    Chavez vs. McGirt.

    IMO.

    Better Fighter:
    Roberto Duran
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Hector Camacho

    Better Resume:
    Hector Camacho
    Roberto Duran
    Julio Cesar Chavez

    THIS WAS VERY DIFFICULT!!!

You know...Its speaks volumes about people's character when they continue to ask:

"Was this that hard to answer/judge between JCC, Camacho and Duran???"

Some say Jordan is the Best...Others Say Chamberlin!

Some Say Emmitt Smith is the Best, Some Say Jim Brown, Barry Sanders or O.J. Simpson.

Some Say Pete Rose, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams or Hank Aaron.

How dare any of you...BE SELFISH, SELF CENTERED OR SELF RIGHTEOUS IN THINKING THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU SEE SOMETHING A CERTAIN WAY...THAN EVERYONE SHOULD SEE IT THAT WAY ALSO!!!

The Criteria of a fighter maybe different for a person in South Philly then someone in Veracruz Mexico, or someone in D.C may like a fighter better than a guy or Miami, or a guy in Chicago may like Southpaws and someone in Ponce, Puerto Rico may like orthodox.

HOW DARE ANY OF YOU THINK "WE" SOULD HAVE THE SAME OPINION!!!

"The Arrogance of People is like a Window...You see right through it!"

out of the three, roberto duran is the most accomplished and better. however, i think julio cesar chavez comes in a close second followed by hector camacho who is also a sure-fire hall of famer.

Duran, Chavez and then Camacho. Camcho was a very good fighter and HOF but not an ATG like Chavez and Duran. I put Duran above Chavez because of his Middleweight Championship and his W over Leonard. Duran putting down Iran was cold blooded

With Chavez basically he did not fight the big names because he was not a star. Early on in his career he fought on his older brothers under cards, he was not thought of as a fighter destined for greatness. Moreover, the politics of the sport (in Mexico) hurt him, he could not get a fight with a contender. Finally after about 30 fights he got his shot against the highly touted Mario "Azabache" Martinez. It was expected that Chavez would lose the fight. However, Chavez gave Martinez the beating of a lifetime. It was the first time Martinez had been knocked out ever.

Chavez in his career fought more than 14 champions and other quality fighters.

Chavez would have beaten Duran below 140. However above 140 Duran would have beaten Chavez.

Camacho was a very good boxer but not on the level of either Chavez and Duran.

Christ, Bramble is nuttier than a fruit cake........ By 1989 Ol' Bramble was a faded fighter going nowhere fast...... He finished up like an ugly ***** with 1,000,000 miles on his motor........... After his loss to Rosario in '86, Bramble was nothing more than a hanger-on........ Bramble is lucky he never fought Chavez in 1989 at 140 pounds...........

    1. Duran
    2. Chavez
    3. Camacho

    Note:

Camacho had the skills and savy to beat Chavez in 1992, but not at 140 DRAINED pounds....... At 147 or even up high as 150, I think Camacho would've had much more to offer in 1992 instead of that limp dick performance he gave.... As for Chavez, his best weight was 140....... Chavez never had much luck above 140.......... 130 to 140 was Chavez' best range........

You know nothing about Chavez. Go to boxrec and educate yourself, the man was fighting seriously tough guys within his first 25 fights, and his record of stay-busy fights against tomato cans compares well with Duran's record of doing the same thing. In fact, JCC probably doesn't have as many of those fights as Duran does and CERTAINLY not as late into his career.

Second, for mrbill: Camacho got thoroughly destoyed against JCC. He wasn't, never had been and never could be considered a fighter on the same level as JCC. It was a mismatch. You need to watch that fight.

imho JCC beats Duran below 140, I don't think anyone can go to toe to toe with that version of JCC and survive, but it's a great enough fight that it's not ludicrous to choose Duran. If you think Camacho could hang with either one of them at any weight, at any time, you deserve the laughter that's going to be directed at you.
