You are crazy, first of all old fighters used to fight tomato cans to stay in shape JCC was not the only one, duran did the same, do you think SRR fought only elite fighters? are you kidding me? he fought tomato cans as well and every old ATG did the same thing, and hell no first chavez real fight wasnt at his 59th bout, before the 59 he fought...

44th bout = Mario Azabache Martinez(33-1-2 at the time) for the WBC Superfeather weight champ... JCC was suppose to loose and he beat the **** out of azabache...

46th= Ruben Castillo(62-4-2 at the time) if you dont know him, he had been in wars with arguello, went 15 rounds in a close fight against the great sal sanchez and JCC just beat the **** out of him in 6...

47th= Roger Mayweather(21-2 at the time)... It took JCC Less than 2 rounds to beat his his ass...

    53th= Rocky Lodridge...

    54th= Laporte...

55th= Franisco Tomas Da Cruz(27-1 at the time)... He hadnt fought elite fighters only truly good one was Ruben Castillo who went the distance still a good win JCC just **** him up badly in less than 3...

56th= Danilo Cabrera(30-4 at the time)... he had been in the ring with Mcguirt and Azuhma nelson, he didnt win and wasnt a great fighter but an ok-good win... Cabrera didnt win a single round against JCC...

57th= Edwin Rosario.... No need explanations...

SO HELL NO HE WASNT FIGHTING TOMATO CANS UNTIL HIS 56TH FIGHT, THIS IS JUST BULL**** WHAT PEOPLE SAYS, SOME EVEN SAY HE FOUGHT A TRUE FIGHTER UNTIL HE WAS 70-0 LOL!!! THEY JUST HEAR SOMEBODY SAYING THIS AND PEOPLE TAKE IT AS A FACT... LEARN FIRST AND DONT LET OTHERS TELL YOU, SAME AS OTHER FIGHTERS, WHO THE **** OVER 70 BOUTS DIDNT FIGHT TOMATO CANS? AND YES IT TOOK JCC 43 FIGHTS BEFORE A REAL CHALLENGE BUT IT WAS MAINLY BY 2 THINGS...

    1) HE HAD ALMOST NOTHING OF AMATEUR EXPERIENCE...
    2) WHAT THE OTHER GUY SAID ABOUT HIS BROTHERS IS TRUE...HE WAS ACTUALLY PUT IN FRONT OF MARIO AZABACHE MARTINEZ TO LOOSE AZABACHE WAS THE ONE THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE GREAT AND THEY WANTED HIM TO GET SOMEONE WITH A 43-0 RECORD ON HIS RESUME, BUT PROMOTERS DIDNT COUNT THAT THIS GUY JCC WAS THE REAL DEAL EVEN WITH HIS INFLATED RECORD OF THE FIRST 43 FIGHTS, THERE ARE STORIES AND INTERVIEWS ABOUT THIS, IS NOT THAT I AM TELLING YOU...

If you think the Chavez Taylor Match means nothing I would say you don't know your boxing history. I think that Duran and Chavez are pretty much even. However, Chavez after winning his title fought everyone in the sport and crushed them.

The Bramble fight did not work out because bramble lost to Rosario and then followed up with a draw against Freddie Pendelton. Pendleton had lost his two previous fights. then a year later Pendleton ko'd Bramble. I don't see how the fight would been a priority for Don King. After the Rosario loss Bramble was no more...and we know that Chavez destroyed Rosario who was a very good fighter.

Also, for idiot bladerunner who doesn't seem to know how to use the search feature here, a repost of one of the 9,948 times something similar to this has been posted:

"Just did, and in his 19th fight he beat Daniel Felizardo, who beat Octavio Gomez, who had a win over Little Red Lopez. In his 20th fight he fought Jorge Ramirez, who was a quality fighter who fought for the Mexican bantamweight title several times and dropped a decsion to Daniel Zaragoza. Chavez stopped him in 2. IN his 22nd fight he fought Manuel Vasquez, who had a win over Lupe Pintor. In his 36th fight he fought Ernesto Herrera who had a win over Chucho Castillo. In his 40th fight it was Adriano Arreola, who went on to get a W against Lupe Pintor.

That was basically Chavez's amateur career right there. His learning stage. He went on to defeat and often CRUSH a looong litany of HOF quality fighters from 130 to 140. JCC was never a true WW and imho, his losses there are nothing but a fighter playing out the string at the end of a great career."

My list of quality opponents that Chavez Beat are:

Mario Martinez, Ruben Castillo, Roger Mayweather (twice), Rocky Lockridge, Juan La Porte, Edwin Rosario, Jose Luis Ramirez, Melderick taylor, Lonnie Smith, Hector Camacho, Greg Haughen, Terrence Ali, Andy Holligan, Frankie Randall, Tony Lopez, Giovani Parisi, and David Kamau.

Chavez fought in his prime 1984 to 1995
3 times in 1984 with 1 title fight (his first)
5 times in 1985 with 3 title defenses
5 times in 1986 with 4 title defenses
3 times in 1987 with 3 title fights
5 times in 1988 with 2 title fights
6 times in 1989 with 2 title fights
5 times in 1990 with 2 title fights
5 times in 1991 with 2 title fights
6 times in 1992 with 3 title fights
6 times in 1993 with 3 title fights
4 times in 1994 with 4 title fights
3 times in 1995 with 2 title fights

the result is 56 fights with 31 title fights in 12 years. How many fighters can boast a similar resume. PPV changed the fight game which is why I doubt we will ever see someone repeat what Chavez did.

    *******s,

look, there is NO comparison between your beloved pacquiao and the great julio cesar chavez. read and learn:

    CHAVEZ: 107-6-2 86 KO's
    PACMAN: 49-3-2 37 KO's

CHAVEZ: Fought from 1980-2005 (26 years)
    PACMAN: Career from 1995-present

    CHAVEZ: 27 Title Defenses - Boxing's All-Time record
    PACMAN: 5 Title Defenses

CHAVEZ: 89-0-1 75 KO's before he suffered his first loss.
PACMAN: 11-0 before suffering his first loss.

CHAVEZ: 23 Title defenses before suffering first loss.

CHAVEZ: 96-1-1 before suffering his first KO loss to a 23 YO. de la hoya.
PACMAN: 11-0 before suffering his first KO loss to Rustico Torrecampo 11-4-4.

CHAVEZ: Suffered very first loss in his 15th year as a pro, vs. Frankie Randall in a world title fight.
PACMAN: Suffered first loss in his 2nd year as a pro against a journeyman Torrecampo by 3rd round KO.

now tell me, do you still pacquiao is a better fighter than chavez was? :nut

All bums with almost as many losses as they have wins and in most cases cab drivers with losing records.

in addition, chavez never ducked anyone like pacquiao has. chavez fought the best, at their best, younger fighters in their prime. pacquiao has made his record fighting older, washed up fighters.

how many fighters has pacquiao dodged? well let's start with joan guzman, humberto soto, juan diaz (when juan was an undefeated champ), edwin valero and shane mosley and wouldn't give marquez that third and pivotal fight to see who was really the better of the two.

finally, chavez fought many great fighters and many more than pacquiao has:

    CHAVEZ..............................................PACQUIAO
    edwin rosario........................................oscar de la hoya
    meldrick taylor X 2.................................marco barrera X 2
    kostya tszyu.........................................erik morales X 3
    pernell whitaker.....................................juan manuel marquez X 2
    jose luis ramirez.....................................ricky hatton
    rocky lockridge......................................oscar larios
    roger mayweather X 2.............................david diaz
    juan la porte..........................................jorge solis
de la hoya X 2........................................nedal hussein
    hector camacho......................................lehlohonolo ledwaba
    tony lopez
    frankie randall X 2
    miguel angel gonzalez
    joey gamache
    david kamau
    lonnie smith
    terrence ali
    angel hernandez
    mario martinez
    rafael "bazooka" limon
    greg haugen
    ruben castillo

did you notice that just out of this list chavez fought 11 african-americans? how many african-americans has pacquiao fought? :admin
