Julio Cesar Chavez Sr fought a lot of bums, but that was mainly to stay in shape - it was his way of training and giving to his fans. That said, when push come to shove, he destroyed the likes of Rosario, Camacho, Mayweather, Haugen, and practically ended Taylor's career. The best combination puncher I have ever seen, and undeniably one of the toughest mother****ers ever to have laced them up.

great fighters take easy fights, or atleast seem easy. Alot of fighters dont get up for everyfight. that something to admire from chavez, he made sure he stayed undefeated. How many fighters overlook a fighter and get put on their ass. by a chump. and guess what that cab driver just blossomed into a high regarded contender.

How many fighters loose to nobodys? glen johnson whopped roy and other than hardcore fans didnt know that most of glens loses could have gone either way.

Maidana could have gone down as a cab driver too if he would have lost to ortiz.

Who the hell would have been Felix sturm if it wouldnt have been for him beating up on oscar. we probably wouldnt have heard much from him on this side of the world.

hell marquez pre paquiao was just a fill in, had a decent record and would be a good addition to your win streak. It was evident Norwood was a clear favorite Hbo fighter when they fought. Now Hbo is on JMM's nuts.

point is there is a thin line between good fighter and cab driver.
If you dont have a good promotion backing you up, u might get stuck to being cab driver. until you have that one difining victory to get u out of cab driver status.

What happened to the guy who said this originally? Didn't he have a fight with JCC in Azteca?

...oh yea, he got a worse beating and put up less of a fight than a lot of those taxi drivers.

Greg Haugen said Chavez built his name on taxi drivers, he then got the livin' **** beat out of him in front of a sell out crowd. It was an horrendous beating. Completely outclassed, in every sense.

 Get out of here with that, I can name 30 better combination punchers than Chavez, including the man in my avatar.
