How did it work for Floyd when he fought Castillo(who's not even close to the talent Pea was)?

Floyd lost to Castillo and was given fits by the likes of Maidana and cotto but you're too stupid to see that ATG like Chavez would have done better.

My only major issue with Chavez was after he'd have a title fight in the 80's, he'd go back to Mexico and fight 2 or 3 non-deserving fighter before coming back to the states for another title fight. These were part-time semi pro fighters who he fought just to stat pad his record. And he did this with HEAVY frequency back in the 80's. These weren't top 10 or 20 ranked contenders, these were nobodies with 10+ losses on their resumes.

WHat fighter currently who holds a world title would be able to do that? If FLoyd decided to fight 2 or 3 tomato cans after a solid title match with a contender, he'd get lambasted for it.

Chavez is funny, he talks about FLoyd being protected but Chavez looked pretty dam protected from the fights I saw him in, especially in the early to mid 90's. He's the ultimate stat padder as fas as wins/losses go.

If you think this is some kind of vitriolic rant, go check his resume and see what he was doing around the time after he beat Laporte I believe back in 86. It's incredible what he was able to get away with in his prime as far as the myriad of undeserving challengers he took on between fights with contenders/champions.

That's why when you look at Chavez, who has DOUBLE the amount of fight FLoyd has, and than compare their actual TITLE fights, you'll see FLoyd is only trailing him by a few wins. That right there speaks onto the concentration of quality fighters Mayweather has taken on in comparison.

It's not a stupid argument at all. If Mayweather gave GGG a tough and competive fight but lost, it could still be better than any of his wins. How god damn hard is that to comprehend.?

First of all, Mayweather isn't "BEATING THE ****" Outta anyone.

    That much is clear.

If you wanna say that Mayweather RUNS around the ring, all scared like, and eeks out a TOUCH and go victory by not commiting to any shots, then that's possible.

HOWEVER, the shot that Maidana landed on Mayweather, that was Chavez speciality.

    I don't know.

I think CHavez has a great chance. I think Mayweather is scared to engage. Maybe he has fake teeth like Hollywood celebrities.

He would only run in this fight.

He would not fight. Is running enough?

    I don't know. It's possible.

You're talking about different eras. Old school fighters did that.
Might as well jump on SRR, Duran and a bunch of other old school ATG's for keeping similar schedules.

I'm actually pleased you brought this up. The problem with your argument is that he didn't lose to JLC and this wasn't published around the globe after the fight.

PBF-JLC was a close fight that could have gone either way that PBF won while JCC-Pea was a clinic by Pea and there was absolutely no case that could be made for JCC winning the fight or even being a draw. One was a close fight while the other one was one of the worst robberies in boxing history no comparison can be made.:deal

He can't even bring up Pac because that fight was some bull****.

That did more harm for the sport of boxing than any good.

JCC wouldn't have knocked out Floyd, I'm sure of that but it would've been a very good fight.

I think JCC's best chance would've been at 135. He was a tremendously well-rounded fighting machine at that weight and had the style to cause Floyd problems, as evidenced in the Castillo fights (even when Floyd won the rematch clearly, he was still having some problems with JLC's style)

I wouldn't bet my life savings on either guy but Chavez is one of the fighters I'd give a good chance too. I think Floyd beats anyone at 130 but at the higher weights, I think there's a few guys who could have taken him.
