Taylor missed more shots than Chavez did in that fight, Chavez had a better defense than Pryor who was wide open to counter hooks.
I don`t think any fighter in history could have stopped a prime Chavez, even though he was a lot slower at 140 than at 135, at 147 he could be stopped though.
Chavez threw far less so his landing percentage would have been way higher, Chavez would have done far better v Pryor than Taylor would have.
I think Pryor had enough power and style to do something most others couldn't, but that just me. Chavez was very durable though.
Chavez by UD or late stoppage, Pryor would start fast but Chavez would slow and weaken his offence with his relentless body attack.
Chavez is a slow starter which would allow Pryor to get his rhythym and its impossible to beat an in rhythm Pryor
Pryor's rhythm will be completely broken by the end of the fight after the pounding Chavez gives his body.
A fight for the ages. I've gone Pryor on points but I'm not confident. Both of these guys would expose weaknesses in the other that had never been fully exposed. I don't completely rule out a stoppage either way because Pryor could bomb and Chavez had the ability to wear fighters down but I think points is more likely. This fight deserves 15 rounds.
It's not like Pryor had exactly an impenetrable defense. I also think the refrain that Pryor could box well is largely a myth. It is primarily based on his ability to out-box Arguello, but every mover out-boxed Arguello - who was mechanical and slow of foot and to some extent hand.
