Pryors love of getting knocked down will be his undoing here.

Prime for prime, I would take Chavez. Some of you must have forgotten that Chavez was more than a come forward, take no prisoners type of fighter. The man could box and his defense was greatly unappreciated, underrated, and seemingly ignored by a lot of people. As I have stated many times before, the Lion from Culican wasn't some poor, unskilled boxer throwing punches in bunches and leading with his face. He knew exactly what he was doing and always had a purpose in his attack. Whether it was to slowly break them down to the body or by cutting off the ring and breaking them down both mentally and physically with the constant pressure.

Here's why I would pick Chavez over Pryor. His stamina was on par, if not better than Pryor's (except if Pryor drank out of the bottle that Lewis mixed). Pryor always seemed a little soft in the body. Now I know not everyone is going to look like an Ike Quartey, Jorge Linares, or Ike Ibeabuchi, but Pryor maybe just didn't have the genetics they do or he maybe he just didn't train to his full potential. Pryor kind of reminds me of Juan Diaz in that he appears to be a little soft around the middle. Anyhow, I believe that JCC would work him down low before coming up top to finish him off with a TKO in the later rounds. It wouldn't be a cakewalk, but prime JCC brings down the Hawk.
