I didn’t mention Lockridge’s durability. Rather the fact that he ran him very, very close. I’ve even heard some call that fight a robbery.

The point of my post had less to do with these fighter’s durability and more to do with the standard of Chavez‘s performances as he became more affected by the weight cut.

Brian could adjust alot more then people think.
    Chavez isn't stopping him.
Remember Brian fought around the Townships and that in itself tells you he could fight.
Not sure about this one. Maybe lean towards JC by a very close decision.

All that I have seen of Mitchell is the 2 Lopez fights...
Mitchell is a good enough boxer, clever enough to make Chavez work. But he can't hurt Chavez and he isn't strong enough to fight him inside. So how long can he stay away from Chavez?
I think that Mitchell is pretty good but he wasn't as good as Lockridge and he doesn't have the attributes that Lockridge had that made Chavez box him. He doesn't have the chin of LaPorte.
I don't believe that Mitchell can outbox Chavez and I am certain that he can't outfight him. So it comes down to how long it takes Chavez to trap him then to break him down.

I assume they’re fighting in Mexico since Brian never got to fight on home turf in championship fights.

Mitchell is better than people think. He was very gifted and savvy at controlling distance and pace. I don’t think JCC goads or pressures him into a slugfest, which means this becomes a bit more of a chess match than Chavez wants.

I still like Julio to win, but narrowly, say 7-5 on the cards. I don’t think he quite reached his heights until he moved up to 135 and sustained that into the 140-pound division. He’s not quite as strong or savage at this weight and I think Brian makes this a very difficult and interesting bout.

Greg Haugen was similar and never stopped at the time they fought. Mtchell is indeed tough tho.

I like Haugen but he's not in the same class. And the Chavez fight was a money grab by Haugen.

People overlook that at one time SA produced some truly outstanding boxers but the boycott limited their chances.
Mitchell like I said went into the Townships and FOUGHT the best and beat them.
And let me just say that slot of those fighters more then likely could hsve become contenders if managed right and promoted.
But the boycott really damaged boxing in SA.
