    Chavez relentlessly wears him down, punishes him and wins a lopsided decision.

    McGirt did miles better against Whitaker than Chavez did.

    Chavez by decision. McGirt was technically good enough to last the distance. I can envision these two fighting at close range. Chavez would be just a bit stronger.

    I went with Chavez via points. James was both crafty and durable. But sometimes strayed away from his fight plan which cost him fights.

    Chavez wins a decision, he was a better all around fighter period..

    Buddy just matched up better because he spent more time studying him than JCC did. Buddy was a good boxer but was seriously lacking in the talent (not skill) department... He was a B+ fighter with an A mindset...

    At his best Buddy was a terrific fighter but Julio was just one step above in class.

    Chavez wins but McGirt is pretty underrated. I'll never forget the masterful performance he gave In completely shutting out Simon Brown. Just an excellent boxer.

    Would have been one heck of a fight, two warriors with fantastic techniques. I think the best Buddy would have had a decent chance.
    My two favourites fighters at that weight.

    Chavez stops him late, however, at 147 Buddy schools him.

    Brown was weak from making welter.

    Brown had been fighting at welter for years. And it wasn't a matter of being over powered as the result of being weak. He simply got outclassed.

    Chavez by decision. I don't see McGirt getting stopped. His defense was sound and he was a decent boxer. I think it would something like 8-4 or 9-3.

    (oh, I already posted in this thread. Didn't realize it was old.}
