Floyd's Lightweight fights were Castillo 1 & 2, FM won both by UDs'; Victoriano Sosa, FM won by UD; and Phillip N'dou, FM won by TKO.

JC Chavez would be a significantly higher level of opponent than Floyd's above challengers.

This is tough one to pick. Probably Chavez, but on another day I might say Mayweather. Chavez was tougher than Floyd and would fight anyone at anytime.

Chavez for me too but close.

I wouldn’t write someone as gifted as Floyd off completely but Chavez with that blend of superb body attack, sensational punch variety and accuracy, defensive prowess and chin was almost the complete fighter.

Mayweather had better hand speed and that masterful defence and movement which would make this extremely tight. But Chavez was brilliant at cutting off the ring and negating movement by using a debilitating body attack. Floyd was troubled to the body by JLC and faded in that fight (though I thought he won) and Castillo’s body attack wasn’t in prime Chavez’s class.

I think Chavez would lose the early rounds by eating some flashy right hand leads and getting countered off the ropes early before working his way into the fight by the mid rounds and clinching the fight by sweeping the last rounds with a body sore and tired Mayweather playing defence on the ropes again but now shipping hurtful liver shots interspersed with power shots to the head, with less and less counters coming back from Floyd.

    Chavez UD 7-5

    JCC - Pretty easy.

He has the perfect style to destroy Floyd, he was busy, accurate, and hit like a mule. He would get to Floyd and hurt him. He was a better version of Castillo, and also hit much harder.

    JCC by KO.

    Chavez. Easy.

I think floyd is forced to play defense from like round 5 onwards. Like 80% defense and 20% offense.

He'd be covering up and Chavez would really be working that body. I also think another highly effective thing Chavez did would work wonders against this opponent--punching the shoulders. i think that ends up being a huge subtraction and Mayweather can do nothing about it except try to make it to the finish line. Not to win the fight but avoid being stopped. And in a DKP bout, I can see the ref waving this off while Floyd is trying to slide and slip, but the ref stepping in with a controversial type quick stoppage. To the benefit of the DKP fighter of course.

Chavez by clear decision. Possibly, late KO, but, Floyd's excellent defense probably gets him to the final bell.
